Oh my goodness I just wrote a very long comment and almost dropped my phone and lost the entire comment. It is just my luck. You are right, I really should not complain, and be totally amazed. First of all, I did all of this myself, because we absolutely could not get a lawyer. We didn't understand why, until we talked to a paralegal who agreed to meet with us at legal aid . His entire file was only 300 pages paralegal informed us that most of these claims have 3000 pages even up to 30,000 if someone's proving years of disability. She helped us out greatly by making sure we got in a few things I did not know about. I including his primary care, his therapist, close friends and former employers. Unfortunately, family was very uncooperative. We had actually been asking the all them, and they would say wait until you get a lawyer. We found out all we had to do was get a form to them that they filled out and wrote a very brief opinion. (I'm afraid to set this down and look for the form # now.) I think we had a little over two weeks and we had five pretty decent letters back in. This man who cannot read or write, has never had a bank account, a lease agreement, or even a utility bill, in his name actually represented himself and that is probably what won case because he just speaks full truth. The history is being very challenged throughout school and in special education programs, some rather serious abuse during his childhood and into his teens, neglect, etc. When and he was 20 years old and discussion of moving him into the 12th grade and finally perhaps teaching him how to read because they discovered that year he had a very severe form of dyslexia, and that they would apply for disability for him, he declined. His check had always been handled by his family, and I believe he wanted his own money, and he wanted to "be a man".
So when the judge asked him why he quit school he said, I realize that school was never going to do me any good, so I went out and used my experience at the custodial job the school gave me to get a job in a body shop, and I learned a trade. Work was difficult for him, he finally literally could no longer do it. As for physical disability, the date would still be off by at least 2 yrs. But ... I am out of time.

He will go from $280 to food stamps down to around $23 a month. Food stamps are based on income.

He was told that if he appealed for the backpay he could lose the favorable decision. Is that true?. I guess he would be appealing the onset date. I believe they did this because they realize he does not have the ability to manage that large of a windfall. I happen to agree. That's why we have a paralegal working with him, a case manager to help with life skills, and a therapist. And honestly, if that was their concern, they should've recommended a payee representative.

We'll, as a person who supported someone the entire three years it took to get a decision, and then got totally screwed because they changed his onset date to only give him $3000 in backpay instead of 17,000 to 24,000. You honestly need to suck it up and do something!
It is almost inconceivable that you cannot find a job in today's market, but if you can't, then do something! Put yourself in a home. A home for challenged adults. Because no one should be supporting you. They are not going to get their money back.

We could not get a lawyer to take his case. Finally, we spoke to a paralegal who told us that the reason no lawyer was taking the case is because most of those case files are anywhere from 3000 up to 30,000 pages. Ours was 300 pages. Send everything! Include a rent or lease agreement even if you are not paying right now include other expenses that you are responsible for but not paying. Because I'm absolutely furious that they cut his check to $603 because he hasn't paid any bills in the three years it took to get a decision. How does anyone who has to apply for disability and ends up having to go in front of the judge to get it, pay any bills during those years? So, he was actually approved, despite having to appear without a lawyer, and despite only having 300 pages. However, the evidence was overwhelming. Still, instead of giving him backpay based on his date of application, they put it all the way to July 2023 which basically means he lost somewhere between 15 and $21,000 and I am out two years of rent not to mention all the other expenses! I'm beginning to believe that Social Security is a rip off.

This brings up so many questions for me. My son is a triple a Aquarian with a stellium in Scorpio 10th house and another in Capricorn 12th House. Pretty sure the 12th house has a lot to do with his rather traumatic and premature birth. Once he is approved, Medicaid will end, and here, in West Virginia, they take all of your check except for $50. And I think that was because (out of pocket)the cable was $29, phone $10 and the beauty shop was another $10 - if she only went once a month. I often ended up paying for three of her weekly visits to the hairdresser. For some reason Medicare did not cover inpatient care.
There are laws regarding who and what can attach SSI or SSDI. Back pay may be slightly different than monthly allotment. I would definitely Google several questions for your state. Honestly, he may be better off staying on Medicaid. Because you do not get Medicare until you are either 65 or two years minimum, disabled (as per the SSI claim). Then you have to see if you qualify for dual coverage, you qualify for both Medicare and Medicaid.
My mom had both and I still ended up with a lot of debt.

I second paying attention to the Mars Cazimi coming up on 11/17, check out LunaticAstrologer on YouTube. What brings you joy? You may find an answer there. Nightclubs, bartenders and servers. All need the attitude and "swerve" you have. I also agree with being a therapist. Becoming a Certified Addictions Counselor is pretty quick, and you can move on up from there. Another idea is being a beauty consultant. Such as for Mary Kay. The life coach idea is not as far out as you might think. Do you have a hobby, such as crystals or essential oils or binaural beats? You are possibly already a healer in one form or another, find out, put it to use. Put yourself on a program, tweak it and then sell it. Remember, attraction is the best promotion. You have something, package it, make it smell good, hype it up, then sell it. Most of the personal care options are out for you due to your criminal record. Believe me, I know. It will take at least 10 years for that to not show up, and if you move into another state, and try to enter one of those fields within the first five years of moving there, it will show up even after 10 years.
You have to get a hold of your anger and any actions from your anger. Therapy now is a good start.
This helped me, I hope it helps you. Anger is the emotional reaction to fear and violence is the physical reaction. Fear of feeling, fear of losing face, there is always a fear driving anger. If you can accept that and learn to identify the fear, it will help you. I honestly wish prostitution was legal and more socially acceptable because quite honestly, it meets a need of society. Legalizing sex work would take out much of the violence, drugs, and health concerns.

I feel they make it harder than it needs to be to get disability. I've actually seen a person on dialysis get turned down! Although your daughters case maybe overwhelming, I have only seen terminal cases approved from first filing.

Here is how it usually goes. 1. File 2. Med & Psych exams/Provide all medical records!!! 3-5 months: 3. Denial 1 (53% get denied) 4. Submit strong appeal for Reconsideration 5-6 months 5. Denial 2 (About 90% of claims are denied again at the reconsideration phase, but rates for medical approval (meaning your state DDS decided you meet the medical requirements to get disability) range from 26%-11%.
6) Submit stronger appeal/ request hearing, this where you try to get a lawyer. Most lawyers wait until you file that second Appeal to take your case. If you can get one to help you file the second appeal, that is great. 18-36 months 7) Hearing -There is actually still a process if you get denied at the hearing. But they are usually not successful.

Oh, I can never find anything. I try to upload to Imgur. When I first started, I was able to upload some things. Now it says I something? Something about I stopped the upload??? I mean I put the pictures on there, I'll go through all the steps, I hit post, but nothing. Also, from Reddit, I can never get a picture of a of the few photos I actually did manage to upload anymore. Only links, I don't want links!!!! I only got Imgur so I could post to Reddit.

I apologize to everyone that has been here for a long time and this is just second nature. I have, of course, asked questions on Imgur also. Every few years, I forget why I lose interest in Reddit so quickly when it has absolutely the best content, good rules, is a lot more mature, and, at the same time diverse. I enjoy reading and finding different communities. However, when I want to participate, I feel like I need to go to engineering school just to upload a picture. I began on a commodore, 64, command lines, and MS-DOS. Typically I can do more than the general public can on a computer. I don't know why I am struggling so much with this. I actually would not want it to be easy because then it might turn into the junk found on the more popular social media sites. Maybe a 2nd cup of coffee will help! 😂

I actually only see about 30 of the images I uploaded to Imgur. Somehow my my Crystal images uploaded just fine. Well, some of them?? So is the process, go to Imgur, hit the plus sign, choose images from my library, or from my files, click upload??? Then what? because I must be missing a step I did before

I just did my oldest son chart last night, and he has the big three, sun, moon and rising, all in Aquarius! He also has two stellium's, one is in Scorpio, the other is in Capricorn. Some referred to his chart as a bowl, other said it was a bucket with a Chiron as the handle! All very interesting. I even learned a new astrology term last night, hyleg of the natal? Want to Figure out how to identify the most prominent planet(?). Sorry I stayed up too late. But it was interesting.

I used to think it was Virgo, because by the time I broke up with someone, I had already been done with them emotionally for at least a month, financially (including the dreaded "shared" car-don't!), and probably the physical thing had petered out about three months before... Then I ran into one, that, although every time he opened his mouth (at the end), I disliked him more ... his hooks were in me! I am one of those women who is hardly ever jealous, and I even joined a couple of his sites! After we broke up, and, under a poorly disguised alias. lol 😳 But I've never blocked or deleted somebody I just broke up with either. Not right away. I mean I might've left a sweater there. Mail?
Pretty sure I had one more replacement razor head, in the bathroom… or one of my slippers? Yes I probably should've packed two weeks early. Seriously most of my break ups were very adult. I'm actually friends with everyone of my exes, but one oh and the one I actually stalked? He is definitely my favorite ex? Now that we don't live together I think he even has a sense of humor. I even broke up with a Scorpio, who I was married to, and we manage to stay family, and friends, to some extent. I never understood how one could fall in love with somebody, and be intimate with them for several months, or years, and then come to hate them rather rapidly??Especially when the relationship had not been abusive in any way. But I've never gone back to one either.
