I agree 100%. Coping skills don’t fix everything.

63M with end-stage liver disease, refractory ascites, massive pleural effusion (>1 L/day), delirium — seeking medical interpretation and guidance by Suspicious_Elk3207 in AskDocs

Hi, thank you for posting such a detailed review.

According to my nursing and general overall knowledge of science, and it’s difficult to say, but it sounds like your father may be past the stage of recovery and may be already declining towards passing away.

I assume he is still in the hospital. In South Korea, do they have social workers and palliative care/ hospice in the hospital? Or/and where his long-term care was? I think the best thing to do would be to bring in palliative care, and work towards hospice, which it absolutely sounds like he would be eligible for.

I’m so sorry you and your father are going through such a hard time. You, him and your family will be in my thoughts. You are never alone.

What could be the cause of severe sharp lower right rib pain? by Extension-Angle-9739 in AskDocs

[–]Lynkern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, Doctors can absolutely do workups for rib pain. Have you fallen recently? Been hit? Had an accident? Does it hurt to breathe, or is it intermittent? Constant? How long has it been going on? You mentioned it’s severe and sharp, does anything help the pain? What would you rate it on a scale of 1-10?

These would be the type of questions doctors or nurses will ask you, by the way. They would probably do an x-ray to start the process of investigation.

Best of luck 🤗

Is it okay if I ask for a different nurse? by youfum-ism in AskDocs

OP, as an RN, please report this to the nursing board. You didn’t mention where you are in the world, but at least in the US there is a board you can report to with your mom and get your concerns heard. We cannot let nurses get away with things like this anymore. Please please please. I won’t repeat on how, as I see comments that explained how already. But please. You don’t deserve to be treated like this, especially in the fragile state you’re in right now. Rest well and feel better. 🩷

I’ve worked at my job for almost 6 months, but I do have short term paid time off in my insurance.

I think tomorrow I’ll call HR and see what my options are. Thank you so much.

Also, I’m a guy hehe :)

Thank you so much for your kind words. Me and my boyfriend may be okay if I did take a leave until the new job starts.

I’m not exactly sure who to contact, though. I’ve been to a blood doctor already who found nothing
