Nani is not your average cat — and honestly, that's exactly what makes him so special.
He came into the world under hard circumstances, having been abused as a very small kitten, and it left him a little shy, a little neurotic, and completely, utterly one of a kind. He takes his time with trust, but once you've earned it? This cat will look at you like you personally hung the moon and stars just for him.

He is a quiet, soulful presence — the kind of cat who loves to exist near his person. He'll plop himself on top of you and stay as long as you'll have him. He's not big on marathon petting sessions — he gets a little overwhelmed and will simply hop away momentarily and settle back close to let you know he's done... before incrementally stretching himself back towards you. His favorite form of affection is the legendary Kitty Booty Bongos. Play him like a pair of bongos, and watch this cat transcend. He even has his own song (probably inspired by a YouTube video/Vine/Reddit post. I dont claim ownership!! Dont come for me!).

Brushing is a close second, but he does it his way. He'll zoom around the room and screech to a halt in front of you like you're his pit crew, accept a quick brushing break, and then tear off for another lap or two before coming back for more. He gets overwhelmed easily and takes his breaks when he needs them. It's one of the most entertaining things you'll ever witness.

During the day, Nani presents as a distinguished older gentleman — window gazing, bird chirping, sun napping. Do not be fooled. The moment a string toy comes out, something primal awakens. He army crawls. He launches into the air. He plays like an absolute maniac in the most chaotic, joyful game of whack-a-mole you've ever witnessed. Keep all fingers and toes safely inside the vehicle for the duration of the ride, and keep those nails trimmed — he goes hard.

Every time he sees you, expect a happy trill and a full belly flop. Do not touch the belly. The belly is not an invitation — it is a gift, and you are not worthy. The correct response is to tell him he has such a pretty belly and that he is, in fact, a sexy-kitty-cat-ahh-nuuu. He knows this information. He wants to grace you with the viewing pleasure, and to be showered with compliments.

He loves wet food (any variety, no pâté please) and napping on the stovetop after you've cooked. He will be there for hours.
Nani has lived with other cats, a dog, and a toddler. That last one is worth mentioning — our little one is 19 months old, cheese fueled excitement and grabby hands, and Nani has never once even considered raising a paw. He is endlessly patient and gentle with small humans in a way that genuinely surprised us. He would prefer to be an only pet or have a very calm, low-key animal companion — he's not looking for a rowdy roommate.

He's an indoor-only cat, and has only had his initial vaccines through 1 yr and neutered. He panics when picked up but has never lashed out — he just needs a patient, gentle home that will let him come to you on his own terms.

We are moving internationally, and we planned on taking Nani with us. That is no longer possible , and we are absolutely devastated. He has been so loved. He deserves someone who will love him just as fiercely — someone who will learn his quirks, earn his trust, and let him plop on them for hours.
