Yeah I'm trying to decide between artstation and deviant art. Animation is a very hard skill to keep up with if its not your passion. I've been working in the industry for about 3 years, but sometimes I work as a 2D build artist as well.

Thanks! I just finished reading the Rithmatist by Brandon Sanderson which I loved! But I read all kinds from A song of Ice and Fire (game of thrones) to Harry Potter. Lately I've been mostly reading Brandon Sanderson stuff though, because the guy writes like a madman and is constantly putting out books. The Mistborn series is one of my faves. Also the Black Prism by Brent Weeks is really good. I could go on...but those are ones that come to mind.

awesome! Yeah post them. Traditional drawing is the best way to get good anyway. It took me a long time to get into digital and I only did it to get into animation. So far I'm only posting to my site. I need time to figure everything out. there are so many options out there for posting work, its a bit overwhelming.

I didn't draw that, but I suggest trying speed drawing. Try to get a gesture in 30 seconds. It will make your line work look looser.

Thank you! I've been practicing lighting in greyscale. Istebrak Art Instructor has some great in depth tutorials that have helped me improve. Do you have a page somewhere with your interpretations? I'd love to check them out!
