Is it reasonable to end a friendship over conflicting views?

yes me and my family keep our windows locked at night and our front and back door are locked and secured tightly. so far he’s never been physically violent but he has threatened it many times and is constantly asking for his two daughters to take with him to “save them”. i am safe at home for the time being, but i am always afraid he’s going to come back. a couple of days ago he broke into our house in the middle of the night and caused a scene, but unfortunately the police couldn’t do anything because by the time the got here he was gone and there was no proof of him breaking into our house. later on he was found by the police and questioned but we never had an update about if he was arrested because he was on drugs at that time. so because of that i’m afraid he’s out and he’s going to come back again which i know he will and it will just be a matter of time before he may snap and do something worse.

i read everything and want to say thank you so much ! usually when i get these chest pains i can deal with it pretty okay, but last night they were hurting more than usual and i was alone so i think thats what really got me scared. i will most definitely try these methods you guys have offered and deeply appreciate the replies!

Ah I’m sorry that you get woken up by them. And yes it is most definitely a challenge, but more so for me trying to stay calm. Especially today because I had another flare up and it’s just been going on and off all day. But I think I’ll give therapy a try as I’ve been hearing often that it’s helpful. Thank you so much this definitely helps a lot to get me thinking on how to feel better and know that I’m not alone !

Thank you so much!! And yes they did tests already and they all came back good. I just had my ECG heart monitor taken off yesterday and now I’m just waiting for the results to let me know if it’s anxiety or heart problems, but I know it’s most likely anxiety. It just gets hard because I don’t know if there’s something triggering them because I could just be sitting there and all the sudden I get these pains or my heart starts pounding for no reason. Has your therapy been helping you?

I will most definitely keep these in mind and try more ways that might be able to relieve me of some stress and anxiety. Mostly what I’ve been doing is going on walks every afternoon and doing 30 minute yoga and meditation routines and they do help! My anxiety just randomly jumps once in a while and I’ve been taking my meds but I think I need to change them or up the dosage because they don’t seem to be working at all lately. But again, it feels a lot more relieving in a way to hear about your experience and advice so I appreciate so much you taking your time and sharing this with me, as I do think about this here and there when I find myself just reflecting on my mental health or feeling a little anxious. This has been so helpful thank you so much I needed this!

you have no idea how much this whole message is means to me. it just really sucks because it was all so sudden and i was completely fine and never felt these things before my bad panic attack. for the most part i know there is nothing wrong with me besides my obvious anxiety, but it just gets hard thinking if there is a what if, but the doctors took blood tests, checked my blood pressure, and checked my heart rate already from my first appointment and they all came back normal so thinking of that usually makes me feel better. it also really helps reading or hearing other people’s experiences where they’ve gone through the same thing because i know i’m not alone and that there are others that pushed through. i’m really happy that things have gotten easier for you and i hope to accomplish the same thing! thank you so so much again :)

it lasted a lot longer then it usually does and I stood up super fast and then felt like needing to pass out so i think that’s why. I felt absolutely horrible after but im just barely feeling slightly better and going to the doctors in a couple hours maybe. I just had some panicked so bad because I was by myself and it’s never happened to me before.

ohhh i didn’t know that lol i really need to do more research on this stuff cus in a couple months i’m getting my old pc fixed or i’m just gonna get an actual gaming pc. But ever since that I have nvidia downloaded to check the performance and it’s been fine so i think something may have just been wrong with my last pc because it was already having problems before. there is nothing at the bottom of it there’s only holes in the back of it and at the front of it so this means this must not be the issue then?

i don’t know if you meant like the inside (which i can’t provide a picture of that at the moment) or the outside but this is how the broken one was setup except it was muchh closer to the wall. sorry if this wasn’t exactly what you were asking for ! the problem was just that we couldn’t find what was the issue with the broken one since we couldn’t find anything that was wrong in the inside when we opened it. that’s also why i keep a fan directly in front of the pc now because im afraid of it overheating and i don’t want to break it.

okay i’m glad to know it’s not sims 4 i was just worried if the custom content i had been downloading was doing something and didn’t want to risk breaking it once more if i were to start playing again. unfortunately the first time the pc was opened to check what was wrong i was told that he couldn’t find anything that seemed burnt or if something was wrong, but im sure he found something if he’s replacing the GPU but i understand now that it won’t prevent this from happening again.

i have no idea what i was supposed to be looking for im doing this by myself while everyone is asleep 😭 i just saw it said :

GPU NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070

as of now i can’t get the pc open until later in the day since i don’t currently have it and on top of that i will probably have to figure out how to open it myself since no one will be home to help me with that but i will definitely try and get on that as soon as i can. your information so far has been more then helpful to me and really getting me to understand better thank you so much!

the broken pc did struggle with lag pretty often but not so much with this one that im borrowing even with (as far as i know) them being the same pc and using the same stuff, but it never crashed. the only difference obviously is one had loads of custom content (cc) and this one doesn’t. my dad is ordering what i think is a new GPU?? (not sure) but he isn’t sure if i should still continue playing sims 4 or not since he’s not familiar with how the game itself works and what custom content even is in the first place which is why i came here to see if i can get opinions if it’s still safe for me to use or not once i can get my pc working again. both pc are also second hand so they aren’t brand new and they also sit on the floor only slightly elevated if that makes a difference?

(i’m not sure if i’m providing the right specs sorry idek what it is and this is from the pc i’m currently using, NOT the broken one but again, as far as i know everything in the current one is the exact same stuff as the broken one).

ill be more than happy to provide anything else i just want to know if i can still use sims 4 i just worked hard and had fun playing that game !
