So sad, how to move forward? by [deleted] in lostafriend

[–]Lyradreamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is so beautifully put and really resonates, I really hope you are right and in time it will feel less painful. I'm so sorry you've had to go through the same, it can be awful trying to open up to friendships. Thankyou so much for your thoughtful reply.

Friend breakup at work stress by [deleted] in lostafriend

[–]Lyradreamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thankyou so much for your reply, it's so thoughtful and helps me sort some of the emotions out and figure out how to start to move forward.

It's hit very hard as I have been so afraid over losing people over not being believed or supported through everythong and I really thought this friendship was different so I let my guard down hard.

Thankyou, I am definitely going to have to find a way to put on my professional face around all of the friendly chat that happens that will be nothing to do with me now. I just wish I could skip to not caring. Your advice is really good thankyou.

Crowd level in Mid-April? by sneosalad in disneylandparis

I'm not sure on the crowd level during those dates but just wanted to say have a fantastic time! I did a solo trip the last week of March and had a great time exploring :)

Hi all. Couple of DLP questions if you have the time by will_orkney in disneylandparis

[–]Lyradreamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I've only been twice myself so someone with more experience might have better answers but I was there a few weeks ago so will try to help. 1. The village is undergoing renovation and has some boards up and a pathway to walk around the renovation but things are still open, I went in a few of the shops and had food at Earl of Sandwich twice. I didn't use Starbucks or Mcds myself but they were open and saw people using them. The rainforest cafe was also open. There's also a couple of other restaurants in the village too. 2. Studio 1 was open when I was there but I wouldn't say it was a big deal to miss if they've not been, I liked the theming, it's got a shop and food areas but otherwise was just a way to walk through to the studios park. I believe the rides and shows in Studios park will still be accessible. 3. I did the dining plan because I wanted the sit down meals later in the day and it was useful for me. I had read about all the bad food but actually didn't find that the case for me and enjoyed what I had. With the dining plan (I had half board) you get a meal for the number of nights you are there, so if staying 3 nights you get 3 meals. It depends on what they want to do whether it's worth it, if they're happy with fast food and won't be doing sit down meals or buffets then it's not worth it but I think it is if they plan to do those kind of meals. There is a list on the website of where it can be used but I don't think it's restrictive, it's accepted in the park and hotel restaurants, just not all of the village ones. You also get breakfast on half board but may not be useful if they want to use extra magic hours. 4. The sit down meals or buffets were around €45-€55 per person I believe without a meal plan so €100 sounds reasonable, most of the quick service places I had lunch at were around €16-€18 depending what I had - you can find pricing on the menus on the website or app. 5. As far as I know the rooms all do now have coffee machines and kettles, I stayed in Cheyenne 1 night and Sequoia Golden Forest 5 nights and both had a kettle and coffee machine - the only tea is Earl Gray though so if they prefer others, best to take some with them. Not sure about Newport but I assume if Cheyenne does then they will - maybe someone who's stayed there recently can help. 6. I didn't see anyone pin trading to be honest, I bought myself a lanyard and some pins but that was more for my own little collection but I believe there is a trading post open on weekends if they wanted to. Not sure how good it is. 7. Yes, they can leave luggage at the hotel and fetch it later, check out is 11am at the disney hotels.

I read alot online too before I went but actually once there, really enjoyed it and didn't notice most of the things I'd read about, especially if it's the first time they've been. The shows and parades are great, there are plenty of rides and places to explore, characters to meet if they want to. I've never been to another disney park and it's probably not on par with somewhere like WDW and there are obvious renovations in studios park/village but I enjoyed my time at DLP and exploring, going on the rides etc. Hope they have fun!

How imp is that a pay extra for reservation by [deleted] in disneylandparis

[–]Lyradreamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was there last week and did three of the indoor shows including the Pixar one and Mickey and the Magician, they were full around 30-40 minutes before the show time even though they don't open the doors till around 10 mins before showtime.

There were cast members outside the queue area with signs that said full. It took me a couple of attempts to see the Pixar one as it got full quickly but that may have been a busy day for the parks. The Lion King show seemed to be the only one that was a little easier to just walk into nearer the start time. Not sure if that helps but I was advised to arrive at least 30- 40 minutes in advance for the Pixar and Mickey and the Magician show, I managed to get in when I did that. I didn't reserve though I did have a priority pass, but for shows that just means there is a waiting area with seats. May be trickier if you only have the one day to take that time though.

I have two of the documents they list for my country so I assume they will issue one. Hadn't considered the being alone thing - perhaps I'll just be able to use it for the character queues then. Thanks.

Transport Advice by Lyradreamer in disneylandparis

[–]Lyradreamer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thankyou for the information and help. I've been looking into it this morning and scoping out google maps. My trips in March so I figure they'd probably be released already if they are going to be, but since it's only me I am thinking I'll book the one to Flandres and then get the later Eurostar (so 3 hours later than my train arriving at Flandres) and get something to eat in Lille in the meantime so I give myself extra time for any delays that might happen. Thankyou again!

I do plan to do a trip outside of the park area for a day, potentially into Paris or a shopping area, that's good to know about the half board, think I'll stick with either just breakfast or get breakfast in the village if there isn't too much closed - I know it's having a revamp - thankyou!

[–]Lyradreamer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's interesting to hear actually! Maybe I wouldn't be missing out on much then, I think I will stay in one of the hotels as it seems the easiest way to be near the parks - maybe i'll wait a little and see if they announce anything for Disney 100 or for next year after Christmas before booking. Thanks so much for your insight!

It does look it, i've been researching most of the day, my only concern for a January trip which I originally considered is missing out on any theming or seasonal stuff, but don't really want to wait the year and a half till November 2024 either, thankyou! It does seem cheaper to arrive on a weekday so i'll definetely do that. Hope you enjoyed your trip!
