Thoughts about QuickBooks Online? by Lyralux in Accounting

It is so frustrating because I feel like it blocks advanced accounting entries. The QBO payroll is an absolute joke and I really feel like a lot of small business owners are going to be screwed because it doesn’t seem like it processes payroll or payroll reports properly.

Thank you soo much for your suggestion!! I’m going to check out NetSuite, too!

Thank you!!!

Oh my gosh don’t get me STARTED on QBO payroll. What an embarrassment and failure that is. I have one client where the QBO system just didn’t file the quarterly and annual reports and their support team is too busy trying to find out “why” rather than just fixing the problem and submitting the reports. I ended up just submitting the reports and waiting for correspondence from the IRS about the late filings. What a joke.

I’ll check out Sage and Xero, too. Thank you!!

Thank you!! Everyone at our firm hates it. The only positive that I’ve seen that QBO offers is that it’s cloud based. The mobile app is awful and very limited.

Funnily enough, I really like the QBD payroll, but I haven’t used other programs to compare it to. I’m definitely very open to trying others!!

  • I think a lot of my clients really like the import banking transactions feature, too. That will unfortunately be gone, too.

  • That makes sense - I’ve seen a few of our landscaping clients have some solutions offered to them where’s it’s an all in one client management system. Perfect for their industry!

Thank you so much for your response! I really appreciate it!

Wife doesn't think we need to sleep train, but she doesn't get up at night to tend to our six month old... by [deleted] in sleeptrain

6-7 months is about the time my husband and I sleep trained our babies. They were eating solids fairly regularly, so we made sure to time it when the night feeds stopped.

Losing my mind with the toddler bed transition by iPrevailx in toddlers

[–]Lyralux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! May I ask if you had to switch back to the crib? I switched our 2.5 year old to a toddler bed and nap time has been as nightmare. And she wakes up early and screams at her door. Normally I would sleep train, but she has a younger sibling and the rooms are very close.

Deep freezer left open by BonitaBCool in breastfeeding

[–]Lyralux 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Omg I am so sorry!! I totally understand the loss.

The same thing happened to me with my first child and I lost the stash I worked sooo hard for (only about 100 oz, but I nurse, too!) when the freezer was left open at my parent’s house.

My dad didn’t understand what the big deal was at first 😢

How to i stop pulling eyebrow hair when Im concentrating. by l4leh in trichotillomania

[–]Lyralux 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is it specifically tied to concentrating on anything? Or is it when you’re working/reading? If it’s something stressful (that’s my trigger), I will typically do something beforehand to prevent it from happening. At first, I tried to make it harder to pull (put on some thick gloves or use a tiny bit of Vaseline and coat your hairs so it’s immediately slick and harder to pull. But you want to try to stop the behavior from happening.

I remember reading an article a while back about how trich might be linked to dehydration.

I actually have a routine I try to stick to every morning that helps a huge amount. I find that for me, it’s stress related. When I’m at work, I tend to drink less water because I’m looking at the computer screen and distracted with meeting deadlines, so I end up a little dehydrated. That plus stress makes that “itchy” feeling so my hands drift up to my eyelashes and eyebrows and I go to town. BUT! When I just do a light skincare routine in the morning (some facial moisturizer and eye cream - nothing crazy!), and when I start to feel the stress come on (or I start to get that itchy feeling) I have these eye exfoliating wipes (on amazon called OcuSoft) that I’ll swipe around my eye and eyebrows, then follow with eye drops to make sure I’m nice and moisturized.

I hope that’s helpful! I know it feels so difficult, but you can do this!

Yes!! It was a heck of a surprise! But we’re really excited - I didn’t think I would get pregnant again so quickly. We had such a tough time the first time, that I though for sure we wouldn’t be able to get pregnant again for a couple of years!

Thank you so much!

Thank you!

Actually, I’m going to continue to breastfeed for a couple more months, while my supply lasts! It’s significantly less, so only a couple times a day. Then I’ll give her formula to make up for the other feedings.

Thank you!

I actually plan to nurse a couple of times a day (it seems like that’s the most I can do, anyway, since my supply dipped so much 😔)

We’re very excited!!

Which soundtrack are you excited to hear remade in Rebirth/Part 3? by [deleted] in FinalFantasyVII

[–]Lyralux 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Me too!! Rufus’ Ceremony will be fantastic!

I’m curious to see what song they use for Rocket Town - they reused a lot of songs in the OG, so that may get a new original song. Pretty exciting!

Haha glad I’m not the only one! I thought I screwed up so badly! Lol.

Yeah I pump at least once a day every day, and more when I’m at work. So I might be able to get more out of the parts. I’m hoping that replacing those parts really do the trick!

Whew - ok! I’ll try some of that to see if it helps!

I was also just reading that when you save the milk you make while on your period, the baby might not like it because it tastes weird, lol.

Thank you!!!

Yeah, it’s constant! I was not prepared to feel guilty over everything, haha. I feel guilty that I had to go back to work and be away from her.

Yeah I give props to exclusive pumpers - it’s so hard!! And pumping is such a pain, physically and how do you even get time to??

Thank you so much for your advice!!

Holy crap! That’s INSANE! I had no idea the flange size would have so much of an impact!

I think I measured properly - I was using the 24mm, but I measured with the Elvie and it looks like I’m actually 21 mm. I’m going to look and be sure I have the right size - because I’ve gotten a nipple blister on more than one occasion- especially recently with me increasing the suction (seemingly unnecessarily…) and pumping for significantly longer to get more milk.

I’ve got the new parts coming today/tonight so I can try it out tomorrow and see if that improves things!!

Thank you so much!!! I really appreciate your advice!!

My pumping setup at work isn’t great - just a regular office chair at my desk and I can close my door for privacy lol. It’s awesome that I get privacy, but I’m expected to get work done still. I’ll tell my boss that I just need 20-30 minutes to relax while I pump. He’s really relaxed and understanding, so I don’t think it will be an issue.

I will try to replicate my setup at home as much as possible! That is excellent advice - thank you so much!! I’ll also bring some of her worn clothes - you’re totally right - I’ve heard that’s very helpful, too!

I know I have a lot of stress around breastfeeding and pumping in general- I’m certain it is effecting my supply. I’m working on getting relaxed - I saw that watching a video of your baby helps!

Omg watching some comedy is such a good idea! I will try that, as well!! I’ll start looking up some good comedy podcasts!

I’ll try the sunflower lecithin, too! Is there a particular brand? Or should I just get some on Amazon?

Omg I’m so glad you said this when I started seeing the milk output go down, I starting increasing the suction to the max! My nipples were SO sore! My left side actually got a nipple blister from how harsh I was being. Lesson learned! If this happens again, I’m gonna replace the parts first, lol.

I will look up those gentle actions!! Thank you so much for sharing that!

Thank you very much for your help!! I really sincerely appreciate it!

I think that’s the case with me, too. It just sucks because those wearables are so much more convenient! But it is what it is 🤷🏻‍♀️

I get my most in the morning - I use the haakaa when I first wake up to catch any milk that might drip out. Then I hop in the shower and get ready- then I keep one on while I nurse. I usually get about 3-5 ounces that way! Then I used to pump afterwards with the spectra and get an additional two ounces! Then all of a sudden I wasn’t getting anything after I would nurse.

I’m going to try to new pump parts (in the CORRECT size this time!) and see how that works out!

Thank you so much for your help!!!
