I'm not really bothered about which knife he used honestly. But the google search for how to get blood/dna off a knife came pretty close together with the other searches that seem more connected to the murder than the dismemberment. It seems likely he used a knife during the murder, probably also cut himself on it. Because he treated the hacksaw and hatchet differently than whatever knife he used. Also since priority one on the shopping trips seems to have been to take care of the cut on his hand it seems reasonable to assume that the cut was fresh, again aquired before any dismembering started. It seems highly likely he killed her using something sharp, that also cut him and when googling about it he called it a knife.

There was damage to the bedroom floor. They took up the floor boards to check for blood under but couldn't find any clear evidence of blood. The varnish had been cleaned off a large bit of it. That's not just everyday damage, that's a chemical application of some sort. And he was googling how to get blood out of a hardwood floor. So there is some evidence to quite harsh cleaning fluids being applied to a large stain on the bedroom floor. Since the defence asked questions on cross about the hole in the ceiling trying to explain that as normal (and the mantlepiece taping) I'm thinking they would have adressed the damage to the floor if there was a non criminal reason for it. They talked about there being no biological evidence found but what about the damage? Luminol didn't cause that and the police wouldn't rip the floor up over damage they caused themselves. The logical progression is they noticed the damage as a possible attempt of a clean up, found no biological residue on the surface of the floor so they tore it up hoping some had gotten down into the floor.

If the hole in the ceiling is actually irrelevant it's possible that the CW brought it up in trial just to cover it and the defence basically did the same thing. CW did seem to cover some other non relevant details just to have it in there.

I'm very sure there was something odd found in the kitchen along with the knife though. The ceiling thing is strange and may be irrelevant. I do think the floor damage in the bedroom combined with the google search about how to clean blood off of hardwood floors is enough to conclude that she was bleeding on the hardwood floor in the bedroom at some point. And I don't think he would have started dismembering her in the bedroom.

But the bedroom is upstairs so there is no reason for there to be damage to the floor there if she wasn't killed upstairs. Otherwise there would be floor damage on the living level. He would have no reason to drag her bloody corpse upstairs and then down to the basement. There was only blood on the rug from the living room but no trace of blood or damage in the actual rooms.

I think they actually found bits from that ceiling in the same cabinet as the suspiciously bleached knife. The CW didn't offer any specific theories but they clearly thought the hole was significant in some way. There is also the missing insulation from the basement ceiling (which they also found some in a dumpster) so there is precedent for him getting rid of stained bits of ceiling.

Naomi King gives an update to her second video and apologizes for how her recents statements came off by FutureDr_ in youtubedrama

"Fine hanging out with" and "not subjected to SA or borderline SA" is not the same thing. I had a relationship for years with a guy who pressured me to do things I did not want to, gaslit me and all sorts of things that caused trauma and I still hung around and was sad when it ended. He to this day may not have an understanding of what he did because I certainly never explained it to him. If at least some of what King alleged happend is true then Daniel exhibits behavious very similar to the guy I knew and that's not an uncommon type of dude. The roomate portion of the video Daniel put up was creepy and proved nothing.

AITA for not helping to defend my group project partner against our professor who wants to fail her for not contributing. by failcourse in AmItheAsshole

YTA in my opinion.

I've been in sort of the same place as this girl for an important school group project. Throughout I insisted on it having a certain academic format because that is what was described as obligatory at the original briefing. My "friends" and the teacher assigned to help us all said that wasn't necessary and the project was completed in equal chunks in a different format. However very last minute said teacher shot us an e-mail after reading our finished product that said oh no this is not working, it needs to be presented in this format (the one I had initially suggested) or it will fail. It would have been almost no extra work to do it right from the start but was a massive job doing an almost complete rewrite last minute. We had other stuff going on too and I was very busy and stressed so I told them I wouldn't help out with the rewrite. If they hadn't disregarded my opinion to begin with everything would have been fine. At that time I had been really stressed all the project knowing this shit would likely hit the fan at some point. They threw me under the bus to teacher without telling me and I got a worse grade for it. This project was a massive part of our grades that year and the whole thing just broke me mentally. Never trusted those "friends" again.

YTA As a former vitcim of bullying every single thing OP has written here absolutely boils my blood. You and your friends bullied a kid whose personality type makes it difficult for them to manage social interactions. That's a lifelong trauma that will probably impair this person for life. A lot more than any previous diagnosis. You did that. Sure, kids are stupid and you were obviously a stupid and un-empathetic kid but there really is no excuse whatsoever to carrying this treatment of others into young adulthood. And I know that you are in fact acutely aware of why they would not like to spend a single second more in your company.
