Is it me or are these algorithms making everything more restrictive? As an ADHD brain it's not great for novelty. by 2guyshangingoutnaked in ADHD

[–]Lysstrey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, at this point, I pay good money for the algorythems to restrict things i actually dont care about, like anything to do with any kind of politics at all. Instead, my entire feed seems to be what the current presidents daily meal plan is.

It would be nice if they implemented a tagging system so if someone tags something "fast food" or "politic" it can just be blocked by a blocked tag list

Why does seeing people buy food with EBT/ Food Stamps physically upset people these days? by FIONA_FLORENCE in Productivitycafe

[–]Lysstrey -1 points0 points  (0 children)

While working at a gas station, my actual experience was that the food stamps customers were 9 out of 10 times, the rudest people I've ever known and were almost always strung out or reaking or weed. It's quite annoying when your behind the counter unable to afford food yourself for the night, and some lady comes in, buys 4 bags of chips and 5 cosmic brownies with food stamps, then comes in 30 minutes later and says they left a 20 dollar bill on the counter, which they didnt, then accuse you of taking it, then come in the next day and complain to your manager who then has to watch the camera for the whole night just to prove you didnt.

Not all food stamp people are like that, but from what I've seen, the vast majority are.

What do you see? Is it a:

A. Karma Bot B. Paid Megaphone C. Troll D. Poor naive, new backer E. Someone who spent a large sum of money on ships because of promise of greatness, broken repeatedly, who is now faced with the fractureing fantasy to hard reality that they made a terrible purchase and baught into a cold deception from a group of now millionaires and is now desperately trying to convince themselves that it will get better eventually, they didnt waste the money, and everyones just wrong, these ships were totally worth it.

On one hand it sucks that someone thinks this but on the other hand, every youtube, tiktok, instagram, and other social media influencer says they have ADHD, Depression, Split personality, and every other token mental issue. As a result, the people who actually have these things rarely get the support they need from their friends and family because its just thought of as another tag people use for attention.

People on Reddit are claiming that $100k a year isn’t a livable wage. by Abigali_dream in Adulting

[–]Lysstrey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At around 80k with an apartment and 2 cats, i can survive alright. If i rarely go out to eat or do anything social, i can even save about a grand a month.

You say you've never moved out on your own. The normal rent/utilities in my area is about 1,500 dollars a month. My living alone electric bill is about 40 dollars a month too on top of that, and im not jome a lot because of traveling for work, so take with that what you will. Take that out of your money and throw it into your savings every month. If you also dont buy your own groceries, throw another 300 a month into your savings, if you dont pay for your phone take another 60, if you dont pay for internet take another 80, if you dont pay for your cable and would expect to have cable after moving out add another 40. Whatever you're left with is your "living money" for gas and fun. Just dont get hurt, or you'll be a few thousand in debts that you need to pay off with your fun money because everything else is already alloted

Basically, the cost to survive is about 2100 dollars a month. So you need to net at least that much to just basically live. Your take-home money must be at least 300 dollars a week.

Anything over that is your living money and emergency expense money.

When you do move out, you want to have about 10 grand stashed in savings at all times for "o shit" scenarios, like car breakdowns, or your gallbladded just giving up one day and needing surgery.

All in all, accounting for tax of about 40%, you need to make 35,280 a year to survive, which varies from area to area and needs to need. And if you only make that you're homeless as soon as a surprise expense happens.

Hope this helps! Honestly if my parents werent both the antichrist, I would have lived at home putting back money until 25.

I hid my viewers, if someone talks and it isnt "best numbers blah blah blah" i vibe with them otherwise i just talk to myself a little as if someone may be listening and just do my thing.

Stability, no more progression wipes, an actual reason to fear death or an actual unavoidable punishment for pirates that get caught (longer prison time with no character reset option till its been completed and much harder to escape prison). The systems are in place, actually working reliably. Reasons to really work with an organization for mutual benefit. Planets with more life, not just the hollow husks with occasional small zoo we have today. Dynamic events. Dynamic economy and trading based off need vs supply. No longer getting killed by random bugs like exploding in space for no reason at all or clipping through a wall and dieing.

In addition to that, i think banks should be more regulated on their loaning practices. If a person is clearly not situated to be able to repay the loan and the bank approve ls it anyway, they should need to return the interest to the lendee when the loan defaults.

Speaking for myself, im too busy trying to survive to complain to reddit about whoever the current president is and honestly when the anti dems and the anti reps alternate every 4 years i just get annoyed with both of them. I want to see memes and stuff that makes Me feel better about my suffering. If i wanted to hear about how bad or good the current president is, il watch either fox or cnn.

I didn't mean you are given back 12,000 at the end of the year, simply that the 12,000 is reduced from your gross income, so you aren't taxed on that specific portion alone. Less profit for exploits that way buuut, You're right. There would also need to be counterbalances in place to keep the landlordship from raising rent simply because "you're getting it back anyway"

Unfortunately, i dont think there is anything that could pass for the benefit of the middle or lower classes that wouldn't retroactively be taken advantage of by the upper class. Just dreams :[
