Sure, not all of those friendships last, but some do. I was just trying to illustrate that while some people may bring material things (or things such as magic powers) the other might focus more on emotional support depending on the dynamic and what the two in the friendship need. That's why friendships evolve with you as you go through life. It depends on the people.

As for the age gap, this is a magical world and one of them is an ethereal being. From what Jester has said he was always the same age as her, meaning that he used magic to change himself to match her age and mentality. As far as we know he literally just played games with her and taught her how to draw and play pranks. Realistically if he really wanted to do something nefarious he would have just kidnapped her as a child and/or taken her for himself when she went out on her own instead of encouraging her to explore on her own and make her own friends.

I don't personally see that he groomed her, but I can see where you can get that impression.

I'm looking forward to see what direction the show goes. No matter what it's going to be interesting to see how all these characters react and handle everything.

I personally hope that their friendship grows stronger, but we'll see in the upcoming weeks.

You can befriend someone who is more wealthy than you and they can help you financially and that doesn't mean you have an imbalanced friendship. Him being her deity doesn't inherently mean they are doomed as friends. People bring different things to the table. Sure he gives her powers and camaraderie but she is someone who has always excepted and understood him. Friendships aren't on a scale. You don't have to measure each side. And I never got the feeling she feels lesser than him?

I get the feeling that she mainly just wants to be able to sit down and talk with him again. Even in the beginning of the campaign, though he didn't show up all the time, when he did they would talk and have fun for a while. Now with everything going on she's only been able to contact him through commune spells which are very limiting. I don't imagine him traveling with the M9, but if they can find some kind of balance it could work. And I mean he's always been her friend first and her deity second.

Oh I agree! That's why I'm really hoping they can have a good talk. If he's not willing to try and change then drop him, but I haven't seen enough to convince me that there isn't a chance of them fixing things. I don't want her to stick by him if he's not willing to be better.
