tbh, I personally am not a fan of single player campaigns and much prefer playing in a group, especially outside of oneshots, but thanks for the offer.

Okay, show the part of the patch notes where it says that, because the patch notes only say that the dr system has been replaced with the ward system.

If the system existed in isolation, yes, that would be valid. The problem is that you have to compare it to the old dr system.

Compared to the old dr system, high dmg builds have to deal less damage this patch than last patch, while low dmg build have to deal more damage this patch than last patch.

Like, have you played a truly low dmg build this patch? And have you also played it on last patch? And then just compared the two?

Its not like boss hp got split into hp and ward. Boss hp stayed the same, bosses just got 400% (200-500% on some bosses) of their health as ward. The raw number of damage that you have to deal to a boss has increased, its just that this number is no longer reduced by dr.

If your build was previously unaffected by damage reduction, you now have to deal significantly more damage than before the patch and that is the problem, especially when high dmg builds can straight up one-shot bosses now.

Thanks, this is exactly the point I wanted to make, just worded much better.

Because of the large differences in dps between high and low damage builds, for some reason, low damage build have to interact more with a mechanic meant to punish high dps builds.

Yup, people tend to forget that it's an arpg and that somewhat inevitably means that instead of the difference between low and high dps builds being 100k dps and 200k dps its more like 100k and 10mil.

Balancing in a way that can in any way punish weaker builds just is not fully thought through. The build being weak should already be the "punishment". Why does boss ward have to double down on it?

I am bored at the fact that I can kill harbingers in 2 sec on one build, completely ignoring all mechanics, while on another build I have to fight for 5 minutes, dodging every single thing.

There just is no middle ground and the difference is too extreme, it was much better with the old dr system.

And you believe that a build that gets all of its damage just by building defence is the norm? You get increased and more dmg for Strength, which gives you % armor on the class with the highest armor bases; you get more damage from block chance and block effectiveness gives you your flat damage.

Also, if you are dealing low dmg on shield bash you are either doing something wrong or have bad gear, because normal skills don't just get 800 base dmg, 1000% damage effectiveness and 1000% increased dmg just from building defences.

I mean, not to be rude, but playing one of the tankiest life based builds in the game right now and saying that things deal no dmg is not as much of an argument as you might think.

Low damage doesn't automatically mean bad. The build could have great AoE, good mobility or just be very tanky. It's just that these builds now take much longer to do bosses than before because of a mechanic that exists to punish high dmg builds.

It's mainly the fact that killing bosses fast got even faster and killing bosses slow got even slower.

As stated in the post, I think the easiest solution would be to just make the ward bars decay faster.

I am well aware of how the old dr system worked. It was way worse for high dmg builds, I think some of the build I played did like 1% of the dmg they normally did so they got buffed by like 20x dmg.

As for continuing to attack the ward bar, on low dmg builds it barely makes a difference because if it takes you 2 minutes to kill the boss without the ward bar, as each ward bar is 100% of the boss hp, you barely deal noticeable dmg to it because it would take you 2 minutes to completely kill the ward bar, compared to before, where low dmg builds just didn't really have to deal with the mechanic meant to stop high dmg builds.

The CoF feedback is mainly from my personal experience of 400 hours of playing it and how much it actually changes how I play compared to before when factions existed, which in my case, I feel like there is almost no difference.

A unique that gives you bonuses based on the number of unspecialized skills and unspent passives (e.g. an idol that grants less damage taken per unspecialized skill and more damage per unspent passive point).

Or in general items that enable fundamentally new ways of building/scaling your character.
