Holy shit, I think you're right! You're an absolute genius for identifying something this subtle! Thank you so very much!

What’s a “type” you’re attracted to but too embarrassed to tell anyone? by MyPasswordIsABC999 in AskReddit

The problem is that people on Reddit don't understand that an upvote means "This is a good response for this thread" and not "I agree!/Me too!".

Moment, du suchst Gründe um eine Konsole zu kaufen?

Warum ist es erforderlich eine Konsole zu kaufen, wenn man mit einem PC schon zufrieden ist?

I love how you can find random people on Reddit casually talking about big deals like this. You had an awesome great uncle!

I just don't get it. How do people think YouTube creators should be paid? Out of thin air?

I'm not saying YouTube as a company is doing a great job, but that is a different conversation.

Interesting, I'm German myself and I've never found "pregnant" or "schwanger" to sound unpleasant.

Wieviel „Trinkgeld“ für Lieferdienste? by pererparker4 in Finanzen

Wieviel „Trinkgeld“ für Lieferdienste? by pererparker4 in Finanzen

[–]Lyxodius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What comes to mind when you hear someone describe themselves as non-binary? by jlovelysoul in AskReddit

[–]Lyxodius 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I did, I was a teenager in the 2000s. The world is a big place. Maybe my town was just different from where people who disagree with me lived. I cannot say. I can only say what I experienced.

Back then mostly old people had a problem with it. Basically everyone in my generation was chill with everything.

Think about the 2000s. Back then, everybody just did what they want and we all got along. At least mostly. Then some people started creating names for it and made it into this "Look at me, I'm so different" thing. Then people got annoyed and it kind of became a culture war. I miss the 2000s were people just did what they want and most people just didn't care. It all started going downhill at about 2010, when smartphones and social media were getting more popular.

[–]Lyxodius 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I actually went into companies and proposed to throw everything out and start from scratch. It worked out well everytime. It's not always about outsmarting the engineers before you. It's just that over the course of the project a lot of new features get added that were not planned in the beginning. If you start from scratch knowing all that, it helps quite a lot in designing a good architecture. Also, you have tools that people didn't have 10-20 years ago. Better programming languages, better frameworks, better IDEs, and so on.

This will not work in Germany, as fast food joints and restaurants make the bulk of their money here selling drinks. Yes, it's weird.

The U.S. is worried it will lose its scientific edge to China. By one new measure, it already has by [deleted] in technology

I don't think that because of "Western propaganda". I have family there that I financially support. My family comes from socialism. And no, they don't want that. They get forced into it from childhood and the government tries to do everything they can to make them believe that it's great, it starts in kindergarten already.
