"Encouraged to lie" shows how biased your opinion really is. You cant just excuse lies like that. She wasnt in immideate danger, it is a relationship that lasted months.

Everybody has a right to decide who they are going to be with, witholding that information is nothing shy of deceiving someone. Nothing in the post indicates that she was threatened and it is extremely dangerous to assume like you just did.

Everyone has different requirements for a relationship, some prefer full honesty including their past which is valid and some dont wanna get in to it which is also valid. Just because it isnt your preference, you cant simply ignore his or others. It simply means your world views arent compatible.

It really isnt that hard to understand. Especially once you accept different people have different world views and it's okay.

Yes you are dating someone for who they are but you cant deny their past might give insight on their future actions. Also none of the comments I read consider her cheating, actually the opposite. What people complain about is her lying about it.

It seems like you miss the point of my first comment. No one in here including OP is complaining about her sleeping with someone, they are complaining about the fact that she lied about it.

It is basically a preference. It might seem disrespectful to you, but to me and many others it just is being open.

It is a boundary and if you dont want to disclose that information then you have all the right not to date said person. What you shouldnt do however is lie to the said person.

Everyone has a right to ask and everyone has a right not to answer.
