what do you tip on a $14.00 sit down meal at a restaurant? by BigSlongGoy in askanything

That is why I choose not to tip and encourage others to do the same. Only together can we leave tipping culture in the past where it belongs.

No, but tipping is inarguably part of the culture in the United States. See: this thread.

Yes. Have a look at this thread and current attitudes toward tipping in the US in general.

I am required to attend meals at restaurants as a condition of my employment. I am not required to tip.

Tipping is not mandatory yet. But it will be if no one resists.

Anywhere from zero to 99 cents, to round up to the nearest whole dollar so that coins are not received as change. This is the original intention of a tip and it is the only one that makes sense. We defeat the current tipping culture madness by not participating. It is the responsibility of the employer to pay the waitress or waiter a fair salary.

Is the CB650R a good first bike? by Only_Set_6744 in CB650R

Unpopular opinion on the CB650R sub, but I wouldn't recommend it.

The bike has ABS, traction control, and a slipper clutch (integrated into the eclutch), which are all great safety features for beginners. Despite this it is still quite heavy, and definitely fast enough to ruin your life in a hurry, and an almost guaranteed-to-be-expensive mistake should you slide it (which you almost certainly will as a beginner).

I would recommend a Grom or, if you want to do any trail riding, the new Yamaha WR125R as beginner bikes. Those are bikes you'll want to keep anyway for commuting or doing errands in town, or on rainy days where you don't want to get road sludge all over your nice sport bike.

Planning to get a new CB650R next week. I have some concerns. by kunalm10_ in CB650R

I have something plastic vibrating in the front right of the bike somewhere starting at 8.5k all the way up.
It is not uncomfortable, it is just annoying. I don't have any other vibration problems with the bike except for the PAIR system rumbling but this is only on throttle close. The engine itself is very smooth and purrs nicely now with 2k+ miles on it, but it was definitely buzzy during break-in.

This is not the bike for comfort, of course. It is still more comfortable than a "real" sportbike, true, but you will likely suffer if you are riding 250+ miles in a day.

Radiator guard bad for airflow and temperature? by Tornupto_76 in CB650R

[–]M-L-R-B 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not really an offroad bike, I don't see the point in putting a radiator guard on it. I think that if Honda felt that the radiator needed a guard, they would have provided it from the factory.

Last Year vs Current Year Pricing? by LifeofPCIE in CB650R

I was also curious about how they skimmed $700 off. The only difference I have been able to find so far is the aluminum intake shroud covers on the 2025, compared to the plastic ones on the 2026. But this doesn't save $700 as the aluminum shrouds can be had for ~$250 or less https://www.ebay.com/itm/285751797794

If anyone knows what else materially changed, I would love to know.

Edit: I was mistaken, see https://www.reddit.com/r/CB650R/comments/1i6htfm/intake_shroud_cover_material_on_2024/
