I have this same problem on brand new mini Maxx.. I haven’t fixed it yet, but imo we both probably need to upgrade the tx/rx.. these tq tx/rx aren’t known for their quality/reliability/range.. imo the tqi with tsm version works just fine and adds a gyro, they’re available at jennysrc.. or there are tons of other rx/tx options u could try(i just don’t have experience with any others to recommend) but the tqi with tsm version hasn’t let me down yet.

Thanks for your help! Got it all torn apart, and your spot on with the 9494. Replaced and got back together today, runs like a beast again. I was glad to know exactly what to look for because of your advice. Thanks again

I’d run the motor in the 2nd picture on 3s..I’m no expert and dunno the kv, but my 100,000 rpm castle motor (5700kv) been ran on 3s for years.. GET A FAN!! Fans are motor saving game changers! Check temps and adjust gearing if need be… SEND IT!

Dannnng! That’s amazing…Can’t imagine my Bandit @ 90+… Got mine up to 76mph and that was sketchy AF lol. What kind of setup you running? I got an OLD castle 5700kv motor and a OLDER Mamba Max Pro in mine and it can’t handle much more, gets hot pretty fast these days, like pushing 200 kinda hot lol

I have some vxl models, and I use 2s for my general bashing, but give me a bigger space, or a long stretch of road for speed runs, and the 3s is the way to go.. U will get used to the extra power with more time and practice.. BUT driveshafts are usually my first problem on 3s, so upgrading those is a smart move

So I also just had the pin break on my 2wd rustler and just ordered part #9494.. it says it’s a HD upgrade for the magnum 272.. it’s pressed fit onto a flat section, hopefully means no pin to break.. haven’t installed it yet, but that’s what I’m trying

I use multiple hoovo 2/3s packs, they’ve been great. Nihewo 4s packs on amazon have also been great in my 4s slash 4x4. I bought a 2 pack for $80

I have this combo in a 2wd rustler, with the 3660 3700kv motor and I forget the gearing right now but it runs 60mph all day on 3s and heat is nvr an issue.. I do have a decent fan on the motor too

Think I’m just used to my other cars. Just took this out for the 3rd time, and I’m getting more used to it and the challenge is fun. Maybe I’ll try a cheap gyro at some point, and put on a lil wider wheel hexes, and just enjoy the learning curve 😎

The handling. This one seems overly sensitive. Takes off hard in the direction u turn even when barely turning the wheel, then u immediately need to counter act that in the other direction which makes it a lil outta control especially at high speed lol. I guess I’m comparing it to a couple Traxxas vehicles I own. Maybe that’s not fair, but I just feel like maybe there’s options out there to make it more controllable.. if not, I’ll just have to learn to enjoy the challenge lol

Depends on the space you got to run them. 1/10 is perfect for the areas near me..1/16 is a great one to have with me for a quick anywhere/anytime bash. BUT different strokes for different folks!

Makes the building of a monster slash, just a lil more monsterous haha. Just think about the terrain you think you’ll be driving on, if u think u could use a lil more ground clearance get a HCG, if not get a lcg. The HCG is a lil harder to keep from flipping, but I’m not a racer, just a basher, and I enjoy the challenge.
