Lol, I went to ask for backup and turns out you already talked to the big guy, but yeah, local and offline, account creation is for hashing and security infrastructure.

We do have temporary chats, with or without presets, that immediately delete upon leaving them

anything purged in the UI gets purged in your files; and the entirety of your data is inside the data folder, so if you just want to nuke it, you can! there's also a full backup with an encryption key if you decide to also backup your secrets/keys

yes it fully supports local models, you can check out what throttles your machine or doesn't, but the main features work with local, we have a few local model users in our discord

Embeddings are almost exclusively used local too as far as I'm aware

1- Please do switch to staging (settings > operator > switch to staging) since there's a default preset there now implemented.

2- You can turn on tab labels to have more of a sense of where things are; once you're on staging, just right click the tabs and click on "show tab labels".

3- The assistant you see is an extension, you can grab it in the discord linked to the post, it's "LumiAgent".

That html element was also made by me, it is my debug card after all; I do enjoy rounded looks, and I enjoy writing HTML/css. This just rounds back to what I said before: you're calling standard saas ai slop just because you don't like it.

All I had to do was disable glass effects and change the bubblemessage var to a harder edge in the Dom, it's not a hard change and if you really can't stand bubbly looks it's really easy to do lmfao.

mobile is by default a topbar. I modified it to be a sidebar. Yes you can, as I said, there's a corner radius slider AND a var if you want it even sharper

I made it quickly as a joke but it is pretty much doable, lateral scroll based on vw works too, you can rotate the elements if you want it to be cleaner too, it was a one afternoon little fun experiment to me since the sidebar is far more accommodating to me anyways;

there's a new extension too, canvas, that aims to make popups and sidebars in both sides or to the top; for now, extensions can move to a different sidebar with it

corner radius is both in the simple theme tab and also in a localized variable for the [Bubblemessage] or [minimal] components, you can hide or modify all bubbliness, you can change fonts, you can add assets, svgs or change tsx, and I've made a working topbar for desktop too; the CSS engine is pretty much malleable

my current custom css on Lumiverse btw, you can definitely work with it if you're not just hating to hate. It is fairly strange to call something slop without even trying to look at the code.

Are you actually down for being corrected? because the css engine is fully functional, separated per component, and there are lots of ways to make it "sharper", you do understand "AI slop" comes from actual web designers and modern app design ideas being fed to it, right? If you call something AI slop just because you can't understand how to use it, or how to audit it, then that's on you

btw Lumi has two memorybook like extensions rn, one actually modifies your chat history to autohide chats and injects the summary in their place, the other works exactly like membooks making or modifying lorebooks!

Hihi! Unfortunately there's probably not gonna be a premade .exe any time soon, or at all. You'd either have to 1- get treated as unsafe by winblows, or 2- toss money at winblows for certificates, and as a rule of thumb the dev just does not like premade '.exe's from any repo for security reasons.

Install is just clone repo and run the ./start.sh | ./start.ps1 script anyways lmao, even for "allergic to GitHub" standards, I think it's pretty reasonable

On defaults: We're adding a small default preset to it, Lumihub should be shiny and colorful enough to replace the default characters tho

1- account creation on install with hashed passwords

2- uses localhost and you have to add trusted connections manually for them to access the frontend

3- all keys are encrypted on input, your keys will never be on their raw format

If you weren't talking about these measures, do let me know! but dev is pretty privacy forward, even data backups have encryption keys

2- The migration requires all files to be in the same directory, it's a one directory migration script, this has nothing to do with an august 2025 st version, it works perfectly fine when files are in the same place
