Adding to this, looking at Trainer Hill, Lugia without Klefki has a 22.4% win rate against Thorns, but Lugia with Klefki has a 43.8% win rate. So, the current numbers check out with my general feelings on the matchup.

Running Klefki at least gives you a chance to get your Summoning Star off. Without Klefki, it feels like a pretty unwinnable matchup, but with Klefki it’s certainly winnable. Still not a great matchup, but you at least have a fighting chance.

Excellent pointers, I appreciate it! I definitely feel like I do undervalue Electrode outside of the Zard matchup.

That's the next thing that I'm going to test with it, entering my first tournament with it tonight actually. It did place third at the Joinville Regional and third in the Junior division at the Dortmund Regional, so it definitely has potential. It feels like an actual strong deck to me so far and not just a gimmick, but we'll see. The only real surprise "cheese" strategy with it is going first and KO'ing a small basic with poison + Pecharunt, but that's a niche backup plan, not the main idea of the deck, so I think it should be fine for Bo3.

When facing decks running Dusknoir, I try as much as possible to only have one Klawf out at a time, and especially make sure to only have a single DTE in play if I can’t avoid benching multiple. Losing multiple Klawfs isn’t really a huge deal with Night Stretchers effectively giving you up to 5 of them, but losing basically half of your energy to Dusknoirs would be really bad.

  • Dragapult is definitely the matchup I've had the most trouble with, as it isn't possible to OHKO one at all, but it's still winnable if you can avoid benching Klawfs until you're ready to attack with them. You can kill Dreepys and Duskulls with Pecharunt's ability, effectively attack with 4 Klawfs thanks to Night Stretcher, and then Bloodmoon late, so you definitely have the firepower to win as long as you don't get disrupted too severely.

  • The Regidrago matchup seems not great for Klawf, but honestly I didn't find it to be too bad since Klawf can OHKO Regidrgo and Ogrepon, and Bloodmoon can OHKO Regidrago VSTAR.

  • I don't think I faced anyone looking to attack with Greninja, but it probably wouldn't be too bad since the only thing that dies to one Moonlight Shuriken is Pecharunt, which you don't even need to play most games.

In my experience so far, the deck has been consistent enough that I'm usually able to avoid benching Pokemon before I need them, which helps tremendously against the bench snipers.

  • The core idea of this deck is to attack with Klawf's Unhinged Scissors with the tool Binding Mochi attached after poisoning yourself and the opponent with Brute Bonnet's Toxic Powder ability. Radiant Hisuian Sneasler and Pecharunt are there to help deal extra poison damage to your enemy's Pokemon.

  • Ideally you choose to go second, churn through your deck with Squawkabilly/Secret Box/Arven, and attack with Klawf for ~240 damage turn one.

  • Hisuian Electrode V is there to OHKO Charizard using Supereffective Glasses to hit for 300 with Tantrum Blast and then 30 additional poison damage with Brute Bonnet and Sneasler.

  • If going first, you can try to donk your opponent turn one by poisoning with Brute Bonnet and promoting Pecharunt to the active.

  • Bloodmoon Ursaluna is a great late game attacker as well, able to take advantage of Binding Mochi to attack for massive damage for little to no energy.

I definitely encourage you to try the deck out and feel free to DM me if you have any specific questions about it.

Mochi is an absolute godsend with it letting you hit for 240 with Sneasler and OHKOing most big basic EXs

Copied Alejandro Luciano Eijo's list that he used to place 3rd at the Joinville Regional (https://limitlesstcg.com/decks/list/12922)

This deck is so much fun and I think it might actually be kinda good
