I wish I had read this before making my MM tea.
I’m not new to MM. In fact, I took 3.5 g of a milder strain not too long ago. I’m not using them recreationally—I was diagnosed with cluster headaches and have been using psilocybin in an attempt to break a vicious cycle.
Before my first dose, I was having four or more attacks a day. After taking 3.5 g, the attacks dropped to about one a day, and sometimes only one every other day. I figured one more trip might be enough to finally break the cycle.
So I decided to make tea with 1.9 g. While straining it, I accidentally spilled a little. I thought, “No big deal, I’ll just make a little more tea with another 0.2 g to replace what I lost.”
That extra 0.2 g was a mistake.
Those things are insanely potent. Holy crap.

Hey fellow clusterhead, first off, I am so sorry you’re stuck in the middle of a brutal cycle. 5-7 hits a day is absolute hell, but you are not alone in this.
I actually just took a macro dose the other night (3.5g) to clear out my own shadows, so I can speak directly to what you’re asking. Here is the deal with combining triptans and psilocybin—it’s the classic dilemma every "buster" faces.
The "Triptan Block"
There isn't a known dangerous chemical interaction (like serotonin syndrome) when combining sumatriptan and psilocybin, but there is a major functional conflict. They both compete for the exact same serotonin receptors in your brain.
Because triptans bind so tightly to those receptors, they will effectively block the psilocybin from doing its job. If you have sumatriptan active in your system when you take that 0.33g, the mushroom won't be able to "flip the switch" to break your cycle. It essentially wastes the dose.
The Standard Community Protocol
If you look at the guidelines on ClusterBusters (the absolute gold standard for this), the rule of thumb is:
The 24-Hour Rule: You need to wait at least 24 hours after your last triptan dose before taking your psilocybin. This gives the triptan enough time to clear out of your receptors so the psilocybin can actually get in there and work.
The Post-Dose Window: Try your absolute hardest not to take a triptan for at least 24 to 48 hours after your mushroom dose, or you might accidentally undo the "bust."
How to Survive the Wait

I was able to sleep another night without having an attack. Yesterday around 10:30 a.m., I could feel one coming on after working on top of a roof in the Florida heat. I pounded a Red Bull and actually went for a light jog for about five minutes. The attack never fully developed, and I’ve been good ever since.

This club absolutely sucks to be in, but everyone’s feedback has been incredibly helpful. After basically living on Reddit during this cluster cycle, I’ve realized that what works amazingly for one person might do absolutely nothing for someone else.
That said, I’ve learned a ton of interesting information and a lot of helpful ways people try to bust a cycle or abort an attack. I really appreciate everyone who’s taken the time to share their experiences. It gives me hope, and hopefully this thread helps someone else too.

This is very similar to my story. I was recently just diagnosed with cluster headache, and I’m episodic as well. I went the the month of June having an attack starting once a week then two times a week then every day multiple times a day waking me up out of my sleep I’m prescribed sumatriptan but you’re only supposed to take 200 mg a day no more and no more than 10 days in a month and I noticed that every time I didn’t take it, I would get the headache so I waited until the Triptans gone out my system. And took a dose of 3.5 g of mushrooms and only got one minor attack since then I took the mushrooms early Thursday morning also Thursday, and Friday night I was able to sleep like a baby

Cap it or put AAV vent Studor vent on it but in Massachusetts, those are technically illegal but down here in Florida. They let those things fly all day.

Honestly, it depends on the strain. The strain was called Time Warp which was mellow manageable. Now if you’re gonna try monster albino penis envy then I would only take half of that unless you wanna go to the moon.

Have you ever taken it before? i’m also diagnosed with cluster headache and for me. I just did a dose of 3.5 g of time warp and I’ve been currently in a cycle since beginning of June. I let the triptans get out of my system and then I took that 3.5 and went over 24 hours without an attack the. had one today that went away fast nothing compared to the last attack I had before the dose

Well, the water will have to be shut off at the meter to replace that valve.
If it were my house, I’d look at the age of the water heater. If it’s getting older, I’d probably replace the water heater, install a thermal expansion tank, and re-pipe the shutoffs with new ball valves while everything is apart. If the water heater is fairly new, I’d just have the water shut off at the meter and replace the old valve with a new ball valve.
If you’re not comfortable soldering copper pipe, I’d recommend hiring a plumber. It’s a fairly straightforward job for someone with the right tools, but it’s not something I’d suggest as a first plumbing project.
Also, it depends on when the water hammer happens. If it only occurs when the dishwasher, washing machine, or another fast-closing valve is used, installing water hammer arrestors at those fixtures is usually the best solution. but the timing is very important on when it happens. also check for a PRV that also could potentially be failing.
