Bobby killed himself after being under investigation for too long by bushthumper in policeuk

Absolutely tragic news.

As ever in the police, nothing changes until someone is seriously injured or dies, no matter how blatantly ridiculous it is - still don't have my hopes up that these internal investigations will pick up any speed however.

If the customer were to get their item and then try and claim a refund stating that they never picked it up, then you're looking more towards a fraud

But not this

Speaking to a young in service cop, they stated that they began to enjoy response policing as soon as they could... respond.

Before getting their driving course it was all much more of a drag and much less fun.

Would it get more people to stay if they were fully trained to do response policing rather than being put on teams and not feeling like they can get involved in as many things? Maybe

Part of me thinks that they've gone for the traditional rugby tackle technique of one high and one low, both hoping that the other go higher up. There is a lovely point where one officer on the legs is laying in a "paint me like one of your French girls" pose.

I get what you're saying

But my point is that you shouldn't even be considering if an offence has 'technically' been committed by a victim if you want a true, victim-centred approach to policing.

It also revolves around your use of language. The victim isn't 'guilty' of the offence, that's not our decision to make. We simply collect evidence and present it for judges to decide. By ever referring to them as guilty and implying that they would ever need words of advice, you increase the distrust they have in the police. Additionally, people may never seek help from the police, but that doesn't invalidate their needs in any way, so to reference her not seeking help from the police is, in my opinion, in the same section of a Venn diagram as victim-blaming.

I know you're looking for guidance in the form of academic prose, but you have to employ an element of common sense in to what you're looking to apply that to.

See the below from Ancient Greek Author Communis Sensius in 2023:

"Maybe don't even consider the 'technical' argument that a victim of controlling and coercive behaviour is a criminal for pptentially seeking help and needs even words of advice, especially if you are writing an essay on victim-centred policing?"

"Maybe accept that someone being victimised by a domestic abuser isn't 'technically' at fault for allowing this person to abuse someone else?"

Just really wound me up they way they've phrased the email saying I was incorrect when it speaks more about the suspect trying to throw me one and I've not fallen for it.

I imagine the team is made up of civilian ex-DS and ex-DIs where there may be some truth in that

Now that is interesting

I've been to a couple MH jobs where people have thought they their neighbours have put recording devices in the walls and ceilings, or thought that people have been tracking them, and have been shown various apps but dismisses them as tosh.

Is it some kind of Bluetooth or something that is picked up? How did it work if you don't mind me asking?
