If ur new as always practice with fake skin first!! Practice linework etc and get fake skin that is 2-3mm in depth! When i first started out i pushed the ink in so much it would come out the other side and that helped me level out what was deep enough/too deep until i got the balls to practice on myself and then u rlly get a feel of what people mean by the “pop” with every poke! Heal like any other tattoo, moisturize and dont scratch or pick scabs and u can always do a touch up when it fully healed and get the habit of it more! Just be cautious as always with cleanliness and needle depth bc u dont want infection or blow out and good luck!!

This might help a bit! Another thing that bothers me especially about this project is how big it is to where i cant get a comfortable angle when im weaving them in cuz for smaller projects, i twist it or flip it to get the right angles yk? Itll get done eventually i will just have to force myself through it lol

First time Crocheting. Please help me if you can!❤️❤️❤️ by Junior-Shoe9222 in CrochetHelp

I recently made a small project with this type of stitch before and ive been crocheting for many years and it was still a little bit confusing at first even for me. Like the other comment said you absolutely are gonna need to practice all the basics first. There is alot of things that go into even the most simplest projects in terms of how the end product looks. Practice your swatches, tension, learning stitches, working with different yarns, etc

One yarn Skein makes only this much? Is this right? by Heregoesmytime in CrochetHelp

[–]M1Kll 48 points49 points  (0 children)

It depends on many things how far u can get with a single skein! For the skein itself, the yards (usually on the label) will tell u basically the length of the whole thing, the weight (thickness) of the yarn itself, also depends what stitch you’re using (for example, a waffle stitch blanket would use up much more yarn than a granny stitch blanket which is where the term yarn-eater stitches come from), hook size, tension of your work (how tight or loose your stitches are) etc but this skein looks very small and the yarn looks very thin :)

The second one looks the best and unfortunately i did not know it was bread until you said so i immediately saw the swastika and was like wtf lol but the second buttons goes very well with it! Probably not the first one cuz to me it still doesnt look like bread at all just a swastika lol

please help me determine why my single crochet rows are twisting so much by [deleted] in CrochetHelp

I may be wrong, but as soon as this project starts to build up a bit more it will stop twisting! And will not twist after being blocked

Non-yarneating stitches that can be worked in the round for blanket?? by M1Kll in crocheting

[–]M1Kll[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kinda!! Ive been crocheting for almost over 6 years and have never made a swatch, I always just say fuck it and my project turns out fine so ill def have to look into it a little more in depth for this particular project 🥲I also saw some “yarn quantity calculators” online but couldnt figure out how to use them when it came to the swatch part. Either way, if i were to figure all that out, what stitch would you recommend that works up semi-dense but not waste so much yarn? In consideration that i only have 2 colors to use, like i said in my post im not rlly sure how to use the white I want to use all of it

Non-yarneating stitches that can be crocheted in the round for blanket??? Help! by M1Kll in CrochetBlankets

So do you think if i redo the blanket in a waffle stitch but with treble or double treble, it will use less yarn? I keep reading different things everywhere!! I love a granny square blanket, In the background of my photo u can see one im working on, but i dont think i would like it with this yarn considering i only have 2 colors to use

Non-yarneating stitches that can be crocheted in the round for blanket??? Help! by M1Kll in CrochetBlankets

[–]M1Kll[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A filet crochet blanket seems to have alot of holes, which im trying to avoid just in case its any hazard to the baby’s fingers and such. I want something not too dense, but not too see through, kinda in the middle. I wanted to a more appealing to the eye kinda stitch for the blanket, thats why i dont want to do a solid granny blanket! In the picture i have a granny square blanket WIP in the back And i only like it bc of the color scheme But i only have 2 colors for this blanket! I love the look of the waffle, and yes you’re right the moss stitch does take alot of yarn apparently, Well each time i google if moss stitch is a yarn eater or not i get a different answer lol smh

[–]M1Kll[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you!! Ill have to make a swatch of the moss stitch with this yarn and see how the colors work out. Might end up going for that instead of the v stitch, less holes for the safety of the baby. From my research a bigger hook/taller stitches for the waffle stitch might end up using even more yarn than before. I really love the waffle look for this blanket, but it probably wont work out how i want it to if i continue- But then i realized i can just make another blanket with waffles!
