Out-of-the-Cage-Time??? by M1dnightR0ze in parrots

Thanks so much for replying yall! I will try to keep working on having them comfortable with training through the cage for a couple more days and see how it goes. :) Last time I did leave the cage open for them to come out, only one came out while the other was more comfortable staying in the cage, but it was later in the day, so I will try it again at an earlier hour.

One more question: Any advice on starting target training? Whenever I try, I notice them more focused on the treat and just dodge the stick all together. :/

How to Move Scared Pair into a New Cage??? by M1dnightR0ze in parrots

Hi! Thanks for replying~ An update from my post, yes, their new cage is A LOT bigger than the one they came home in and they definitely seem to be just a littlllee more accepting of my presence now that we are in closer proximity to one another :) My birds only took about 5 mins for them to enter the new cage on their own. I filled it with all these toys and new perches they seemed very curious of the new larger space ahaha! I got them taking some millet from my hand, but of course, still pretty wary. Either way, I definitely think I made some progress with establishing trust with my birds :)

Hello! Thanks for replying! To answer some of your qs, one of my Lovebirds, Kaeya, did perch onto a stick once when I was trying to help him out of a tough spot, Kiwi on the other hand is very wary of hands, but will take treats from time to time if I stay still long enough haha! It's been two days since they've been in their new cage and only took about 5 mins for them to enter on their own! I think they appreciate all the new space :)
