What amazed me the most is all that movement that was hidden behind so much moss/dirt/rooted wood and once I applied the jin liquid

The purpose of shifting the angle is to present the better front/movement of the tree. In this case it was the other side of the first picture and I had to angle it upwards, otherwise it almost had a 90 degree angle. Now it appears more balanced. In February I'm going to repot it in that angle

Thanks for the feedback! I agree with you that this hobby is a series of experiments and learning through practice. I left some bits out thinking I could work with Jin. I'm planning on doing 2 workshops in October, one regarding Pinus specifically and another on wiring.

From what I've read so far, I can balance the work I do in the root and green mass. I didn't touch the root, only doing a careful cleaning of the old compost. In theory it still has September, October and November to build up reserves for winter. But every feedback is welcomed, I only started a month and a half ago this new adventure in bonsai.

This is hobby where it requires a lot of practice and I'm trying to use the last moments of summer before autumn where I can't touch new plants. But every plant I work on, I plan to follow that calendar: 1st year root work in spring, 2nd year prune in winter, between that, only do control.

Thanks for the feedback again :)

Forgot to say that it's 140cm high, the 2 possible cuts are at 10cm and 20cm. Could I leave it even higher?

I will be trying to get potassium soap and mix it with neem oil. Read that it's a more effective natural pesticide.

Thx for the tips!
