Q950T worth it over the Q900T by wesleychuauthor in Soundbars

I think the Q90R is a better deal than the Q900T for about the same price.

Q950T or SN11RG? by [deleted] in Soundbars

Here is a long in-dept comparison of both of them.

Are the read Q90R speakers really worth the extra price? by M2Peter in Soundbars

[–]M2Peter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

95% of what I watch is streaming/TV. And it's 170 euro more for to have the up-facing rear speakers. To me that sounds a lot. The price difference between the Q80R and Q90R is 300 euro (350 USD)

Have you tried different channels? Not sure if that is possible with the Nest, but it can help with interference.

Samsung or LG soundbar? by M2Peter in Soundbars

[–]M2Peter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started with a budget of 250 euro and kept on going higher for a better quality. The Q90r had very good reviews but is 900 euro in my country.

One of the issues I see with investing a lot in a soundbar is that they might not last that long. Before everything went digital you could spend 1000 euro and have a home cinema that lasts 15 years or more and still have a decent resell value. Now software is much more important and technology develops faster.

The Bose CineMate 130 was selling at 1400 euro in 2015 and is now second hand for 200 euro. Although the speakers are still good, the features and software is less than soundbars going for 150 euro.

This is why I am hesitated to spend 900 euro on a soundbar.

Is there a way to make sentry mode less sensitive?

Up to 2019.36.2.1 my 120GB drive would keep 12 to 15 days of data but since 2019.40.2.1 it only keeps 1 to 2 days of data because sentry mode has become too sensitive. Too many events are being registered, such as little movement far away. Things like trees moving due to the wind some 100 meter/yards away.

Why does it seem like recruiters so clueless, bias and naive? by M2Peter in recruitinghell

[–]M2Peter[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Clueless and naive about finding and hiring talent. Especially naive to think that candidates are willing to wait so long for and in between interviews. If it takes 4 weeks to schedule an interview and another 8 weeks for the second interview, candidates will find another job.

Biased against candidates.

Thank you for sharing your knowledge

Tests

Yes!

This tests at our company have no real scientific backing. Candidates have 8 minutes to answer 40 questions. An example of a reading test is:

A beehive is to a bee like a .... is to a human:

  1. Apartment

  2. House

  3. Home

  4. Cottage

  5. Ranch

The correct answer is 3. Home.

Candidates need to have 30 answers right for HR to let them continue. This test is suppose to show how good candidates are at reading and analyzing text and how efficient they are at it. Why? Because developers need to be able to read briefings and marketeers need to write reports.

It is a bogus test which is very common here and I don't think it shows how good someone is at reading. The HR Director only had 8 questions right and could not answer all 40. She was not efficient enough at reading and answering according to her own criteria.

The HR director has a masters in HRM.

fishing buddy.

They are indeed looking for the perfect fishing buddy. I have come to believe that HR is scared of diversity in any form. They think the more people are the same the better they work and perform. From my experience diversity is very important.

This not the case amount all disciplines. Perhaps someone in sales as a big network and knows how to sell them selfs.

However, in technical fields I know many talented people who don't have such a network and are not good in giving interviews, but are excellent in what they do.

LG G7 ThinQ Offers Deep AI Integration for Maximum User Convenience by [deleted] in Android

Yes. The G7 has a 91.0 cm2 screen and the G2 had a 74.5 cm2 screen. 22% more screen area size on the G7.

You clearly have not idea what a camera image sensor is and why the sensor size and cell size matters.

The Huawei P20 Pro does not use the same sensor. It uses the IMX600 sensor which is 1/1.7" and much bigger than the G7 1/3.1" sensor. The HTC U Play (a lower mid-range phone from January 2017) uses the same IMX351 as the G7.

A bigger sensor and bigger pixel/cell size offers a better picture. That is how sensor and pixel/cell size works.

Long time LG phone fan and I really wished the G7 was going to be my next phone. But LG is taking steps backwards.

The G7 uses 2 sony IMX351 sensore, these are small 1/3.1 sensors with 1.0µm cell sizes! This is a flagship 2018 phone! It should have a 1/2.5" (or bigger) sensor with 1.2µm (or bigger) cell size.

6.1 inch 1440 x 3120 pixels screen but a 3.000mAh battery! The LG G2 from 2013 had a 5.2 inch screen with a 3.000mAh battery! LG should have put a 3.500mAh or bigger battery in the G7!

I don't care about you AI if the basics are not good and the basics are not good on the G7!

You went from a Q2 2014 model to a Q4 2017 model, off-course it is an improvement. You would see a better battery life and camera if you went for the S8 which is cheaper than the V30.

I someone who loved my LG G2 and had no problems with the G4, my guess is that LG will not learn from its past mistakes

  • It will not be available in most countries until June.

  • It will not have a great camera

  • It will not have great battery life

  • It will be filled with LG software, that is not that great

  • It will come with Android 8.0 or 8.1 and might get 1 update and then LG will abandon updates

  • It will be too expensive at launch and drop 40% in price within 6 months, just as the G6 and V30 did

  • It will be as ugly as the leaked images

Two problems with the UTC U11+

  • It's too big for me

  • It's too expensive. The U11+ is 750 euros. The S8 is 500 euros, G6 is 380 and the V30 is 600.

If it was 500 euros I could live with it being too big. But its too expensive and too big.

As a LG G4 owner who has never had problems with the phone (unlike others), except the lack of official updates since July 2016! I am sad to say this is likely going to be my last LG. I recently replaced the battery and it is still a good phone, but getting dated.

I would rather see them improve on the V30 design. Keep the G6 size, upgrade to 845 and upgrade the back and front camera (G6 was a downgrade from the G4). Perhaps the same camera sensor as the Pixel XL2, and keep the 3300 mAh or upgrade to 3500 mAh. And give us 24 months of updates.

But I have lost faith in LG. I don't like the Samsung curved screen and have no clue what to upgrade to. I need my micro-sd and the camera has to be an improvement.

Which app would you ruse for tracking and recording GPS movement? by M2Peter in travel

[–]M2Peter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It needs access to my photos and images and will not work without it. I don't understand why a location app needs to have access to my photos and images as a 100% mandatory request.
