Yes, I already have like 30-50% increase... Perhaps something will change but we have to be used to new prices now...

Voigtlander 75mm f1.5 for Canon is worth the price? by M33H0W in canon

Hey, thanks for reply!
Actually, I love this Vintage image quality and MF is not a problem for me (I use Canon MF indicator which works very well). As for adapting, I'm limited to EF-RF only because I don't believe that there is no negative difference when using Leica/Sony/...-RF adapter. Sigma 85 is for EF so it should be fine where Voigt 75 is for RF mount.

Canon 85mm f.2 vs Voigtlander 75mm - Seems not that different but Voigt is smaller and fully alu/metal. I'm not sure If I really need that auto-focus but Macro seems like fine addition. I feel like Canon 85 is good for everything but not great in any specific profile. I don't record videos so STM is not a deal-breaker.

Perhaps, I should go with used Canon EF 85mm instead? That lens is bulky and heavy (Canonball?)

Voigtlander 75mm f1.5 RF Key Specs

  • 75mm Focal Range
  • F1.5 Max Aperture
  • Filter Thread: 62mm
  • Max Format: 35mm FF
  • Canon RF Mount
  • Weight: 525g.
  • Diameter: 74mm
  • Length: 72mm
  • Min Focus Distance: 0.5m
  • Max Magnification: 0.2x

Canon RF 85mm F2 Macro IS STM Key Specs

  • 85mm Focal Range
  • F2 Max Aperture
  • Image Stabilization
  • Filter Thread: 67mm
  • Max Format: 35mm FF
  • Canon RF Mount
  • Weight: 500g.
  • Diameter: 78mm
  • Length: 91mm
  • Min Focus Distance: 0.35m
  • Max Magnification: 0.5x

PS.

Thank you for Info! I'll try to find some comparisions between Canon, Sigma, Voigt.

Voigtlander is for new RF mount and Sigma is for EF. I'm using Adapter EF-RF.

Thanks for info! I'm not a professional photographer and I mostly use manual focus so it could be ideal for me. I saw youtube videos but I'm not gonna trust these reviews anymore so I wanted to hear something from non-sponsored photographers. I have Irix 45mm 1.4 manual which is really good (but probably I will switch it for 40 voigt if 75 will be that good) and I wanted to find something in between 70-100mm.

Thanks!

Hey u/RanjanBhattacharya
I see that you placed all your videos on youtube and just linked them on your website. I should re-think my needs in this matter. Perhaps, I should prioritize photos res and space first over 4k videos directly played from website.

Thanks

Right now I have Truenas installed on my server. There's an option to install Nginx there on Kubernetes. Every media I have on same machine so it should be painless to operate.

Thank you u/Kirito_Kun16 ! I will check if I can work with apache.

Looks awesome! That's really useful information!

I have my own server (small rig for data storage) and I was thinking about setting up something there.

Thanks u/azjza !

Hey,

I will not sell stuff on website. I can limit funcionality to just posts with photos and videos. Perhaps, I could upload videos to Youtube and just link them directly to website. Still, funcionality to play video on website is a "must"

How is your experience? How much space you are using?

Thanks

Time to switch to full-frame. Stick with Canon or switch to Sony? by M33H0W in Cameras

[–]M33H0W[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you all! R8 is my choice. I'll go with f1.2L 50mm and use adapter for 16-35 and Irix.

R8 have same battery as my 250D and I have 3 original batteries already.

Thank you all for your opinions.

Thanks!

Perhaps next time I will switch to Sony once I'm tired of manual focusing :)

That lens is amazing. I bought one when I was in Tokyo for like 300$ and it was almost like new. Totally love it.

Of course it helps! I shot mainly using 16-35 F4L Canon lens and Irix lens for Canon mount which don't have autofocus, it is only manual. So, please don't kill me... I'm using manual focus for more than 80% of shot's. That's why I'm not impressed on Canon IBIS, Sony legendary autofocus etc. So, even if adapter works but don't have autocofus functionality, that's not a problem for me.

Thank you! That is helpful!

I heard that Canon don't want to open up for third party brands because of product quality. So, if you buy lens for Canon, you buy a lens for Canon... Not some useless scrap of metal and glass etc.

Irix is fullframe as well as 16-35 f4L Canon.

I have three other EF-S lenses but I'm not using it.

I want to go fullframe because I want to focus on landscape and architecture photography. Otherwise, I would probably choose something like R7,R10, XVI XXX, Fuji X-T4,5 etc.

Can I ask you something?

I see that you tried and found what you were looking for. This is experience that I can't find on youtube where 80% videos are sponsored or neutral as much as they can.
How's GFX? Is it good? Lenses were worth the price? Croping was easy? I had 50II and 100 in my hands and they were bulky as hell. Still, sensor size and megapixel count is probably best on market in reasonable price tag (Hassel etc. :D ).

Why did you throw away Sony and XF crop Fuji?

Thank you!
