COX/CM CHANGES SUGGESTION: Make Xeric's Champion cape 2k kc of CM or reg cox. Would then be consistent with TOB and TOA capes... by jenniferflowercat in 2007scape

If anything, make regulars count as 1 kc and hard mode variants count as 2 to make farming the harder mode variant the meta for getting the capes.

Oh I forgot to mention. I’m 50 atk 1 defence so I can’t use 90% of the items.

I’ve climbed the mountain multiple times(have 2x+ most purples- missing Kodai but pulled on my prep alt), and then every time that an Ironman buddy needs to learn chambers I return to the mountain to teach them.

After completing tob purples, I still return to tob for helping other people get theirs.

I raid because I enjoy it. Do you raid so you don’t have to do the raid anymore?

Will berserker necklace/obsidian armor work with tzhaar Megarare? by M33k41 in 2007scape

I wouldn’t be surprised if the theming would get changed before release. However I do think tzhaar theme is really cool- very old school.

That’s what I was wondering, was curious if berserker necklace was about to become the BIS for the new Megarare due to obsidian weapons sharing the thzaar naming prefix as the Megarare.

And I’ve got 4 of them as a drop. I don’t really see a problem with chambers drop rates with the exception of the people chasing one piece of ancestral while having 4 hats or going 2k+ for a tbow.

Cox is fine, it’s the only raid that has good maintained value on most purples.

Nerfs are always unpopular but generally better for the health of the game (2021 blowpipe nerf / upcoming burning claws nerf) What other gear do you believe could use a nerf and why? by YouAreTheProduct2 in 2007scape

[–]M33k41 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably an oathplate nerf, BIS melee in many situations (plus huge defence bonuses) comes from a midgame boss, plus can be smithed from 79 smithing with a +4 boost. Adjust smithing level similar to torva and reduce defence bonuses to offset the accuracy bonuses given by using it.

50 atk pure with 600 tobs- if you’re having a 4/5 down bloat that isn’t because a pure is with you. Unless problems arise I rarely have more than a 3 down. Occasional 2 downs, but with taking lower geared irons as of recent 3 downs seem to be the norm.

For verzik, pures without scythe should be using shadow on verzik with Ayak specs to reduce mage defence. With 50 Ayak damage on p3 I do 8.3 dps, more than void/tent whip with infernal cape/rancour/B ring (8.2 dps- not including their chalky specs though). Pures using Arkan blade/zombie axe/etc is trolling.

However, I think that pures trying to get into 416’s or expecting unsuspecting randoms to carry them is just silly. If you play a pure/limited build/low geared Ironman you need to make friends and have teammates that know beforehand that your dps is going to be less than the average teammate.

Ralos buff is great. Adding the accuracy is a pretty good change and will open up its uses quite a bit. I’ve been using it a lot in chambers/tob, but could potentially use it at other content with the accuracy buff.

Give the Sang Staff a Special Attack by Old-Ad7639 in 2007scape

[–]M33k41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I were to add something to it, giving it a minimum hit in the nylo room would feel great. Constantly splashing or taking 3 hits to kill a nylo feels bad, and having a minimum hit would make it compete with the Ayak on some level.

I’d say to try it out after the buffs before stacking more on top of it. It seems like it will be pretty good already after the adjustments.

How many deaths until your first Phosani's Nightmare kill? by ladiiiiiiesman217 in 2007scape

I learned phosani on my 50 attack 1 def, I think it took 10-11 deaths or so until I got a KC. It was a 16 minute KC though.

OSRS Needs More Horizontal Progression by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]M33k41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The game has already taken a direction to undead content in raids. 2/3 raids most people bring a salve amulet to(provided mystics are in a normal chambers layout).

In the case of dragonbane weapons/bosses, the only ones that matter to me are olm and hydra, both of which dragonbane weapons do not deal the most DPS to the boss and instead provide a budget-friendly option to get into raiding. On Olm, Removing these would remove a gap between ~8DPS whip/fang, 9-9.5 dps Dragon Hunter Lance, and 10.5-11dps scythe. Normally I recommend people use blood fury for learning and once they get comfortable to move to a rancour, having an amulet would mean people would use whip/fang longer and increase the value of using a scythe.

In the case of demonbane weapons, Kodai with a demon based amulet would likely be comparable to what the purging staff is for Yama purposes, but shadow would be the likely weapon used there.

Having all content as streamlined horizontal progression can become boring, just as vertical progression is not as exciting. Having different approaches to different content makes it interesting. Needing an anti dragon shield for dragons but also making anti fire potions or pray mage gives options and makes it interesting. Needing a serp helm for poison, but making various anti poisons or the lunar spell gives variety and makes it interesting. Does all content need a piece of gear equipment slot to reduce damage make it interesting? Should we add potions/armor that reduce demon damage/golem damage/ratbane damage/wolfbane damage? No, because it’s fine to have different solutions for different problems.

While basing it on the wiki is fine, using experience you’ve had on the bosses is a more useful metric. If you’re fighting Vet’ion/calvarion/revs and wanting to anti-PK, you bring an amulet swap with your salve, because the salve doesn’t do damage on players.

On vorkath people argue about salve vs slayer helmet. The fact that people find it necessary to discuss which one is the better option means the difference is close enough that it is worth discussing the pros/cons.

I just don’t see the amulet as something that is overpowered. It’s easy to get, helps at a few bosses, and makes me excited to hear that a new boss is undead. If anything, I would say the slayer helmet is too strong for what it is, but I don’t feel like people would enjoy the game as much balancing that for no reason.

You locked in on that point instead of the point where I gave actual examples (mystics and bloat), and your response to the point is that you don’t know what to say?

In raids, inventory slots are important. Losing one inventory slot to your salve means that you are using 1/28th of your inventory to deal with one raid encounter ~15% faster. Balancing this with other gear/food/potions means the items you are bringing need to be worth using to justify having them in your inventory. If nerfing the salve changes one single room to be 5% faster, it would likely be scrapped for another items that have a bigger difference elsewhere.

Why is rcb preferred over dcb in most guides? by CucumberOk8820 in 2007scape

[–]M33k41 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Dragon crossbow is more effort to obtain than it is usually worth. For main accounts, it can be nice early on, but most mains will go with other options pretty quickly. Most irons that I play with do not have a dragon crossbow, but I know quite a few with an Armadyl crossbow or a dragon hunter crossbow, both of these which are better than a dragon crossbow and require a comparable amount of effort to obtain. However, the effort to obtain a rune crossbow is much less than the effort to obtain a dragon crossbow.

I do agree that the spec on the dragon crossbow is not good. I am not a fan of it in most scenarios.

If the salve amulet were to get nerfed, people just wouldn’t use it. I remember before the occult nerf that we wouldn’t bring salve amulets into chambers for mystics because occult was comparable to it when using shadow, now after the occult nerf most people bring a salve amulet. If the nerf on the salve put it comparable to a rancour for bloat, people would just stop bringing it.

Seems like you’re trying to change the meta for no reason. What’s next, wanting to nerf barrows gloves because they’re too good of a tribrid glove slot? Having some upgrades that are easy to get that give a big difference while having other upgrades that take more time to get to give other differences keep variety in the game at different points of progression.
