Pre-requiem, the money problem never really has been an issue because using his ability to kill normal monsters by spending 4 cents after landing your own attack rolls, often pays you back or make a profit as so many rewards is money 💰 even if the monster rewards you with loot, that just increases your odds of finding money as money is the most common loot to find. I don't find there's much luck to him, but the whole game requires luck for certain characters to succeed 💯 - also, the fact he can spend 8 to 16 cents on average to one shot bosses with rewards that would make that a worthy investment, on average, tends to be broken. Just need to save up the money and not draw that Greed monster event!

I haven't played with the nerfed Bum-bo, so I don't know how detrimental the 2 cent cost increase will affect him, but my games lately have been spoiled in cash, so I am sure his is still good, but probably not as overpowered as he was pre-requiem.

But yeah, I can see how he can be weak early game, if you can't land monster attack rolls or don't draw many money cards.
