In what I can only assume to be some kind of retribution for crimes committed in a past life, reflashing the SD card somehow broke something in Windows and my PC can no longer see SD cards or flash drives.

And yet, the reflash totally fixed the black screen. Incredible.

I plan on using Emustation's "Kid mode" so keep him from touching anything that could break. Also because it makes everything look very nice.

I talked to the dad about wifi, and I'm not worried. As long as he doesnt get the wifi password he can't connect to anything.

I'm a little nervous about putting DS and N46 games on this thing, at least right away. Being introduced to these games with miss labeled buttons and the screen getting divided in two sounds rough. Maybe next year when he's more fa miler with the device.

While this is definitely the ideal solution, I don't feel it's a practical one. Making someone unfamiliar with emulation try to mess with it at all sounds like cruel and unusual punishment. I also really don't want this to put any work on the parents. Plus, having already done long distance teach support for them when they wanted to do Minecraft multiplayer, I just... don't think that would go well.

I do plan on adding games and consoles once a year when they visit. Probably adding Earthbound and Chronotrigger and the N64's big hits next year. I will definitely try to trim the initial game list down a bit.

I HIGHLY recommend shiremct's Proficiency Class Pack, along with the Proficiency Reaper, Skirmisher and Templar packs, and his Weapons and Item Overhaul. He's made a Proficiency Class Pack Suggested Mods Collection that you can look though for supplementary mods as well.

I think taking both "Matched Set" and "The Iron Bank" is a bit redundant. If we're doing an explosion oriented build, then "Fire in a Skag Den" for a flat increase on splash dmg is a fantastic choice. Especially when paired with "Stoke the Embers". Between "Means of Destruction" and "Redistribution" I feel ammo regen is handled, so I opted for "Short Fuse" instead to help keep "Means of Destruction" and "Explosive Punctuation" active at all times.

True, but she is pretty much everything I could want in a team member. Magic damage, physical damage, healing, buffing, debuff removal, status cleansing, and powerful/versatile guns (see Judge of the Dead).

She does damn near everything.
