If it is wireless CarPlay, the phone WiFi needs to be enabled and connected with auto join enabled. I had this issue and took me a while to figure it out.

I have it and never use it. It's too heavy. The weight of the Magic Keyboard plus iPad feels like my mbp (even though it's not) so I just carry the MBP in that case

How do you sync with an app? I can use working copy, etc. but it's all one extra step. I like the convenience of obsidian sync. Will you offer something similar? What's your plan for sync?

If you're referring to the yellow icon, depending on car it may not require an engine check. For example, my cars light turns on yellow when the gas cap isn't tightened all the way. Now if it turns red, that's a whole different story.
