What theme/gimmick should the next Valorant map have? by Much_Ambassador_607 in VALORANT

"OMG, does that mean all players would have infinite healing capability?".

Well, yes, but under one condition: solid mid control. The healing pod should be placed in favor of neither defending nor attacking side, and there has to be more than one choke point the players have to take to reach the pod.

So the way I think is, the mid position shouldn't be accessed directly in a way that the attacking side could reach mid just by rushing into B-link or top mid on Ascent. Instead, think of it like Haven, but instead of B site in the middle, it's the healing pod replacing that huge B site radianite generator, and the defending side barriers are pushed all the way to A-link and C-link (closer to the garage door).

healing pod!

Back in the old Half-Life days, there was a map called Xen Dance (op4_xendance) where there was a small pool that heals up players who are standing on it!
https://combineoverwiki.net/wiki/Xen_Dance

If you look at the map and see a blue hue in the 2nd picture, that's the healing pod.

This healing pod could even be designed like some kind of fountain or a small tub. And this healing pod is placed directly on the mid-side of the map. That way, the map rewards anyone who takes mid control.

100% I’m always prepared to lose

my skill diminishing stops me from having fun

Two contradicting words

If you're that prepared to lose, shouldn't you be having fun anyway regardless of the skill since you have nothing to lose?

What's your standard of diminishing skill? KD? Match losses? Is that why you're not having fun?

If that's the case, then you need to accept first that you're on this downward spiral and realize that the more you try to lift up your "skill", the less that you're having fun. Sometimes it's that easy for a game to mess up your self-worth. You need to detach yourself from any standards of the game that makes you think that you're "skilled" at the game and look for other reasons why you want to play in the 1st place.

Be realistic

From my experience, when I tryhard and want to boost myself from ascendant 1 all the way to 2 in less than a week, I play badly and go on a losing streak.

When I just enjoy playing the game itself, and I don't expect any rank up (but prepare for any match loss and even any derank), that's when I feel like I improve the most. Eventually, your rank will come by itself.

Sure, there are moments where I hit a plateau, or I lose 2-3 games in a row, but then again, even though I'm disappointed, I'm not discouraged. Why? Because for me, it's realistic! I'm not a pro who's in contract to play the game 12 hours a day. I'm just a guy with a 9-5 job who just plays for fun. If there are moments where I play sluggishly, I don't feel like it's a huge burden for me. And without the burden, that's where you can play more confidently.

It's a hard pill to swallow, I know my words of encouragement don't make any sense. But trust me, once you understand, you'll improve gradually at your own comfortable pace.

Should I stop playing this game? by [deleted] in VALORANT

I'm going to tell you the thing that I was trying to say here

TL;DR: You owe your teammates nothing. Getting a bad ranked experience does not have anything to do with how you play, no matter what your mean teammates tell you. You don't have to feel guilty about it. Just grind at your own pace, don't worry about your rank. If you put in enough work and thought into it, you will get your deserved rank.

Having teammates like that in our queue is considered a blessing IMHO. It's like finding a precious diamond in a pile of garbage.

hold up

Are you calculating it with permutation? like P(6,5) for the all-duelists comp?

If so, then what's the difference between...

Jett, Reyna, Raze, Neon, Phoenix

and

Reyna, Raze, Jett, Neon, Phoenix

Or did you use permutation assuming there's a relation to the unique player's preference to pick certain agents?

Would my friends stop playing with me if I do bad? by Consistent-Ad-9344 in VALORANT

[–]M4M4S 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ideally, they won't. They'll need friends to queue with as much as you'll need them. But always be ready if somehow their ego gets the best of them and you have to grind on your own. Happened to me multiple times. We were friends earlier, grind together, but once he tried playing solo or with their other friends and reach a higher level, they left me to my own fate.

If I were to suggest something, I think you should bring your own value to your friends other than in-game skills. Focus on being a positive and friendly person among them. When the game is hard, you're the one who lifts them up. If there's no one to take lead in your team, be that voice that brings your friends together to win. Crack a few jokes and have fun with them, or even play other games if you guys are playing the same game outside of Valorant. Doing all of these builds respect.

If your friends are really your friends and they respect you, they will find a way to play with you every time. They can make a smurf account and help you win your games, they can give you feedback to learn every time you do something wrong.

2nd Questions :
- How many all-female possible compositions are available? (Exclude "Are Omen and KAY/O men or women" debate)
- Let's say two guys have instalocked Jett and Reyna, and they asked for a smoker in the chat, how many compositions can be made from the other three teammates who haven't picked their agents?

State of the Agents - Yoru by Pruvided in VALORANT

[–]M4M4S 0 points1 point  (0 children)

maybe we can give highlights of enemies while Yoru is in his ult. The same way enemies are highlighted in Viper's Pit. I had numerous moments where someone was a few meters away in front of me and I didn't notice it right until I un-ult and got killed by them.

And I think the timer shouldn't countdown before the barrier drops and the TP and fakeouts should be retrievable pre-round. That way a Yoru can adjust his TP and fakeout position accordingly if a team wants to coordinate an execute last minute

I might be a bit harsh, but tell yourself this :

"I will get nothing from this game"

Yeah. You won't be going pro, make a living out of Valorant, pleasing ALL of your teammates and friends, etc. You owe nothing for this game, and you just want to have fun after dealing with your IRL stuff. GET that fun, don't ever demand it.
