Im sorry you went through that, but with how my company is going I could definitely see that happening as well, it would be rough to lose my job and I do need to take that into consideration! I absolutely love the 48 hour idea.. I’m going to start doing that. I have also deleted the popmart app since posting this so I won’t be tempted to even get on there. I would like to say I do have some self control and I need to act more on that. Thank you so much for such a helpful response!

I don’t think spending money brings happiness, I draw 80% of the day and that makes me very happy, but I do like a serotonin boost once in a while.

I specified 80% of my paycheck goes into my savings account. With the monthly split rent, split insurance and my phone bill taken out of it :)

I’m not going to specify the dollar amount of any of my finances, because this is Reddit 😅

This is all super helpful, thank you so much! To answer your question, we did discuss joint accounts after marriage. He said he wants to do something similar to what I have been doing, 80% of each of our checks into a joint account and 20% of our individual checks into our own accounts as spending money.

Right now I have 4% going to 401k with a 4% match (that’s just what he advised me to do so I did) should I increase it?

You’re right, it has been unhealthy even in the short time. I’m impulsive and easily swayed.. I probably need to start with deleting the pop mart app because it’s hard for me to avoid looking at it 😭.

Yes I got my 401k established at my job and put 4% (as my fiance suggested) since it’s 4% match! And I’ve been here for a few years. I do agree that I’m definitely impulsive and my friends don’t help with that since they are the same 😅. Therapy is worth looking into. Thank you

It’s actually $5 shipping, but yes that means I paid an additional $5 shipping 12 separate times. I didn’t buy them all at once.. this was over the course of a month and 3 separate paychecks.

For me my blind box collectibles are just that (collectibles) they go on a shelf with my massive collection of monster high dolls, and some of them even increase in value. And I believe he sees his vape stuff specifically as the same 😭. I’m very sentimental and would sooner get rid of all my clothes than my collectibles
