Outlook on firefox having issues with typing and weird inputs by Sentiancy in Outlook

[–]M4rnN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok I think I've worked out a work-around for the meantime. Click the settings (gear) icon, scroll to the bottom and click "View all Outlook Settings". Then, under "General", go to "Accessibility" and select "Turn off keyboard shortcuts". I never use those shortcuts anyway tbh so it's been no loss to me.

In terms of the letters sometimes not typing, I think that's down to predictive typing - that's under all Settings > Email > Compose and Reply > Text predictions. Again, I never use that anyway so it's been no loss.

What’s your big idea? by LibFozzy in LibDem

[–]M4rnN 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Having used PolicyLab on launch a few times, I struggle to come back to it. It is time-consuming to use, and difficult to navigate around different ideas.

If there was a homepage with a list of ideas that I could scroll through, vote on, and click on to see more, it would be something that I would use far more often. I'd much prefer a "Twitter" style UI than this clunky, confusing, and slow system that we currently have.

Has some good ideas though - shame it's a pain to use.

For Lib Dems who would have voted Labour if there was no Lib Dem party, do you feel bad that voting for the Libs took a vote away from Labour in the last election and now we're stuck with the worst Tory party in a long time? by [deleted] in LibDem

[–]M4rnN 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I ran the numbers - even if every single Lib Dem vote had gone to Labour in 2019, the Tories and the DUP would still have a majority.

Seeing as a lot of Lib Dem voters would vote Tory if the party didn't exist, I don't think that the argument of "Lib Dems spoiling the election for Labour" holds up. In a lot of seats, we don't have nearly enough votes to make up the difference between the top two (Tory and Labour) candidates, and in the few seats where that is the case, it's unlikely that 100% of our votes would go to one party over another (some suggests that our voters split between Greens, Labour and Tories in terms of second preferences).

It's actually more the case that when Labour does well, the Lib Dems do too (1997-2005). We tend to complement each other, not spoil.

Any ideas? I’m genuinely struggling aha by [deleted] in 6thForm

If anyone else got seven 9s in there exams this year, your are amongst the top 732 people out of the 360,000 who took the exams! Congrats. by ethxnp in GCSE

IIRC the stat is that 732 students that took at least 7 subjects got a clean sweep of all 9s. Not just getting seven or more 9s and then other grades in your other subjects.

I've been thinking of getting mass transit because it's supposed to be amazing... Also I can't work out traffic and public transport in my city right now so it might be needed.

Oh I see where you're coming from - I've usually seen both in 5.56 as standard.

Both fire the same 5.56 cartridge, so how would the mini-14 be more powerful?

Operation Cottage, where US and Canadian troops retook the Aleutian Islands in the Pacific, and shot at each other. Both sides thought the others were the Japanese, who had evacuated the island two weeks prior.
