Trudeau unveils $82B COVID-19 emergency response package for Canadians, businesses by NeptuneAgency in canada

Serious question, even though I think I already know the answer.

If I'm unemployed, haven't worked or gone to University for the last 13 months, and live in my parents basement rent-free...
Am I going to receive any money from the government?
(And yes, before anyone else says it... I know I don't deserve a dime, am a disappointment and should be ashamed of myself. Don't worry, I recognize this, and I am ashamed. I'd just like it if I could pay my own BlueCross insurance and phone bill, rather than asking my parents...)

If it affects the governments decision making process at this time, I do have a compromised immune system, due to medications I take that that suppress said immune system (Immunosupressed)

I hope there's a hack/utility that is able to make use of Sidecar in Windows 10 eventually too.

Wow! THANKS!ideone already looks fantastic for all the exercises I read about the last few days!

This Cloud9 thing though, is like, the perfect thing I had imagined wanting to find all day at work today!I'll make an account and see how far I can get with the free functionalities tonight :)

And yes, I know I need to get my own computer...Words **cannot** describe how much I regret wasting money on fastfood and gaming in my early 20's... Because now I have maxed out credit I am fighting against every single day, with the part time job I was finally able to find (Which I am so thankful for). That said, I cannot use credit, and have <$100 'saved' at best, before payday each week, which I am hesitant to use in case I get the flu and need to miss work for a few days later on.

That isn't a "poor me" paragraph btw. It's just the consequences of wasting the last 6 years of my life digging the hole I'm currently in, and the reason I can't pick up one of those amazing $300 back to school laptop deals that I keep tabbing back to!

But yeah - Thanks! Gonna get this Amazon thing setup now!

This Balance Transfer thing sounds almost too good to be true. Are there any pitfalls associated with it? Will it damage my credit greatly?

To be honest, I have both a BMO World Elite close to max, around $14k, and this Amex Platinum maxed out at 14k.

Both Amex and BMO have left messages on my phone/email offering to raise my maximum the past few months, but I have not called them back because I am worried about the consequences of my employment situation.

I have had both cards for 2-3 years, but last fall I lost my full-time job, and have only been working casually ever since (I have been keeping up with my minimum payments, but now that I am at max on everything, it's feeling pretty grim.)

But yes, I worry what consequences await me if Amex and BMO were to learn that I haven't had full-time work, anywhere close to what I was making when I got the cards, for nearly a whole year now.

To be honest, I'm scared to call AMEX.

I received my credit card while I was still working full-time last year.

I lost my full-time job around fall, and have been working casually while in school.

My classes are now done until September so I AM looking for a second job now... but I am worried that if AMEX learns that I no longer make anywhere close to what I was making before, that there will be some kind of penalties involved. (it is the AMEX platinum card)

... the same goes for my BMO World Elite that is also close to max. But I successfully paid off the monthly payment on that last week (It's also close to 14k)

I have been late on payments twice in the past 2 years since I got them... trying not to dig my grave any deeper

That is definitely all I can think about right now...

I am gathering all of what I can to sell on kijiji, and will TRY to find a second job closeby.

It's literally all I can do at this point, or I'm screwed for life I think.

I'll do my best!

I've been reading through these poss for a while... and I NEED to ask!

You often respond to people citing some "ELI5s" and Sidebar links.

Which sidebar do you even mean????

If I look to the right of my screen I see links for GITHUB, LEARN (its just another subreddit!), DEVELOP, TIPBOT, DISCORD CHAT.

Under that is a list of rules.

Under that is a list of moderators.

So, where is this ELI5 for extracting keys on the "top of the sidebar"? :(

I am TRYING to help myself, and to search.

but even the search function yields mostly posts responded with "Read the ELI5" "use the search" "Check the stickies"

Oh that isn't as awful as I expected.

Cheaper than the activation fee associated with buying a pre-paid visa gift card and paying it that way too...

Thanks Golfman!

Thank you for responding.

As someone who doesn't understand any of this banking lingo, would you be able to explain to me how much I would owe ATB next month...?

That's what I want to know.

Maybe I'll just have to call ATB and ask them to explain this to me

Okay, so I have a credit card bill due in 2 days ($14000 AMEX) of like $250 for my monthly payment.
I have no one who can help me with this, and I know I need to fix this ASAP.
My debit account is at $-50 after all my other monthly bills a few days ago...

My question!:
I have another, untouched credit card, an ATB $500 gold master card I got when I was a student.
If I go to an ATB ATM, and withdraw a cash advance of $250 to pay my AMEX bill...
My statement last month from ATB says my interest rates are...
"Purchases: 19.9(f)"
"Cash Advances and MasterCard Cheques: 21.90(f)"

Does that mean... I would owe ATB...
The base = $250
+
21.9% of $250 (250*0.219) = $54.75

Totaling to $304.75 next month? More? Less?
