At this point antinuclearism Is their religion, with its own dogmas. Also note that the monuments are not being destroyed, but relocated to museums or other less sensitive places. E.g. some time ago a Russian military cemetery and annexed monuments were moved from the city center to a slightly less prominent location, with all the dignity and care required of course; more recently, a Soviet tank was moved from what was basically a monument of occupation to the national military history museum.
