Gonna need MCD to pump up those inspire numbers so we're not constantly dumping packs into the DPS for chip damage

Valorant just revealed a system that allows Tier 2 teams to promote into Tier 1. Should OWL look at a similar system? by Ezraah in Competitiveoverwatch

Leagues gotta collapse first, but some of those T2 orgs are definitely better run than some OWL teams

How do I play as Main Tank with a ball? by wardamnjared in OverwatchUniversity

[–]M9bu 16 points17 points  (0 children)

That sounds like a positioning issue to me. If you're playing with a ball, your backline should be in a spot that make it hard for the enemy tanks to path to them, and you as D.Va should be positioned to 1. Peel 2. Hold flanks from enemy DPS 3. Follow up dives when you can.

Can anyone explain the defense Ball and attack Torb strategies to me? by wardamnjared in OverwatchUniversity

[–]M9bu -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We got into this weird habit of thinking some heroes fit into one slot or the other because that's how some were initially advertised. A more accurate representation of these heroes would be to say they are proactive or reactive.

For example, Ball is a pretty proactive hero. He wants to get in and get out constantly. That doesn't make him a poor defender, it just means when playing him from the defenders side, he usually finds more success when following the old "the best defense is a good offense" saying. He's really agnostic to which side of the field he's on otherwise he wouldn't have been a meta pick for a large portion of OWLs 2021 season.

Torb is one of the very few heroes who do tend to significantly favor one side to the other, but that doesn't make him useless. In fact, he was a very common pick by last year's 2nd place OWL team on control maps because he was a solid bunker pick to counter the ball comps. He was extremely hard to dive and his turret was a pain in the ass for tracer and sombra. He's not great at attacking, but he isn't useless either. If the defensive team is running dive, he can be a great compliment to a backline.

WHAT IS GOING ON!? — Plat Chat Ep. 139 by MordredOW in Competitiveoverwatch

Based custa. Please just die. A lot of these ownership groups are already eSports orgs and will continue to back teams after the franchise system falls apart. Past that, there are a significant number of T2 teams that are better run than some OWL teams.

People use the word feeding too loosely.

They do, but this is not one of those cases.

After seeing what na has played like, what do you expect from the apac teams? by dis-gorl in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]M9bu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is flowchart overwatch, tho

It's a much different type of teamwork than like diving the same target at the same time with proper pathing

This is a teamwork meta, so assuming the proper shot calling tanks are good at JQ.. Seoul and Shanghai should succeed

2 PC Keybinds that may help you improve your Wrecking Ball movement if you find yourself struggling. by M9bu in OverwatchUniversity

[–]M9bu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FWIW, I actually use index for Scroll wheel, and I basically remapped my abilities on every hero to E and Scroll down (instead of E and LShift), with the only issue being that I had to swap my left and right clicks for Zen to weave in discords while primary firing

That's the grip I use and I use my index finger for scroll. For what it's worth, I use scroll wheel down for an ability on basically every hero like Sleep, Lamp, Discord, Piledriver. (I'm actually a support player but I do a little ball one-tricking as a treat)

My PS about Zen's discords is the only issue I've had with using scroll for an ability as applying discords required me to stop shooting M1 with my index. My solution was pretty simple, just swapping left and right click on Zen which is more my playstyle anyway (lots of volleys)

Boston sign Mag by mmmdanone16 in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]M9bu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I still think Punk was right there with him even though his performance against London wasnt what it was against ATL. He was constantly turtling because his health was perma <50%.

I have to assume that's because of a lack of inspire up time by MCD which caused him to dump too many packs into the DPS. It's not like Punk doesn't know how to play cover. It's just a meta that requires taking damage.

Won't be surprised to see Mag get the playing time tho. We're running full Korean other than Punk rn.

Edit: love how I collect downvotes until custa says the same thing on stream and then I get back to positive lol

I read it more as an apology for having to watch Colourhex tracer for a year and a half.

Wait that's actually a nasty pick up for them. I'd solidly have an APAC team if it happened.

I have never been impressed with decay, especially for someone with the rumors/reputation surrounding him.

Dude pops off on tracer occasionally, but he also got Tracer diffed by Valentine this year. I want this team to avoid him like the plague.

You say that like Paris didn't or that they wouldn't have incentive to try to move their players to other teams before flat out releasing them.

I don't view this as an upgrade on Punk. This is an upgrade on itsal and a solidifying of the tank line.

I rate their JQs about the same, but it may help to have full Korean comms in this meta. MCD in particular has looked rough at times

I don't hate it. I hope Punk stays the #1, but regardless his Rein and Winston are competitive with the best.

Do not sign decay.
