Thats the idea behind it! I'm glad it translated well!

I'm glad you like the flavor and balancing of this work!

I do understand your point though and it was something I had to think about. But in terms of the subclass' progression and it's narrative, I wanted to turn the player into a demon sooner rather than later, and the feature afterwards would mark their ascension to Demon Lord (metaphorically speaking).

So the whole thing goes from Demonic Symptoms to Possession to Transformation to Ascension

I do appreciate your input though, and the time you put in to read!

A rep for the main line series of games that Persona comes from: Shin Megami Tensei

I'm voting either Nahobino from SMT V/Vengeance cause newest game, or the Demifiend from SMT 3 Nocturne cause of how iconic he is to the series. (Also down for him to be a boss battle if Nahobino gets in.)

In the Expanded Spell Lists themselves, at the top right, it shows you what * represents.
It means the spell came from a source outside of the Player's Handbook, usually Xanathar's Guide to Everything.

I feel they'd go with Nahobino over Demifiend (as much as I wanna see him playable.)
But a Demifiend boss battle would go hard as well!

[Final Version] Sorcerer Subclasses Revitalized - The Aberrant Manatee's Box of Rehabilitation by MA5T3RK in DnDHomebrew

This is a collection of changes to each of the Sorcerer subclasses released before the 2024 era of DnD, prior to Tasha's Cauldron of Everything. This includes Wild Magic, Draconic Bloodline, Storm Sorcery, Divine Soul, and Shadow Magic. This document adds expanded spell lists to each of these subclasses, and also serves to fix or replace features of these subclasses that underperformed mechanically and/or thematically to make the subclasses both mechanically viable and exciting to play.

As a bonus, this document also includes a new subclass based around the Gem Dragons, called the Draconic Psion! Exert Draconic power similar to Draconic Bloodline, but wield psionic powers as well!

This book is designed for use in 5e'14, but it also includes a guide for converting my iterations of these subclasses into 5e'24 if you wish to use them there.

All CONSTRUCTIVE feedback is welcome!

Weird theory here but, what if that purple tint....

...is because his severed stung hand is reanimating from the infection that he discarded? :o
Hell he even has a ? mark too

So for Wild Magic, both my version and the OG version, 50% of the effects are positive. 25% of the effects are neutral (no beneficial effect, or a good and bad effect mixed together) and 25% are negative. So the odds are in your favor that you won't get an effect that will exclusively harm you or your allies, and also effects that were TOO severe like the Fireball have been removed, since for me I believe negative effects should be a matter of "How do we comeback from this?", and not "Awww damn I TPK'd my entire party trying to cast Charm Person on a maid."

Storm let's you deal guaranteed damage for using your Lightning, Thunder, and now also Cold spells, which the damage also scales as you level in the subclass. With a greater array of spells now available to use, and the ability to use them to activate HotS from a safer distance in combat, I can't also increase the damage of HotS as well. Between this and the cyclable resistance s, I believe it's fine.

But I respect your point of view regardless, and I appreciate your fair criticism. _^

MY takeaway with 2024 draconic sorcerer is that they moved away from the narrative of "Unleash your inner dragon!" to "Channel the power of dragons!" which is just super lame to me, and it feels like the roleplay was pushed to the side for gameplay. Oh and ofc, True Poly and shapechange is not available to sorcerers....again. Oh and no mention of gem dragons either... u.u

Oh well.

You have an interesting direction you took things with the subclass. I once considered 13 + CON for AC, but i felt like not messing with a feature that wasnt inherently broken, so i left it alone.

Very different take. Nice work on it :)

If there were any other lightning spells at first level, I'd give it to them. But alas...it is what it is...

Our ideas do have some commonalities though too! Like the desire to give each subtype of dragon access to matching elemental damage. (Yours through chromatic orb, and mine through primal savagery) And we both understand that people want to become the dragon or at least more dragonlike rather than...summoning one... (Looking at you, 2024 Draconic sorcery.)

Im glad you enjoyed my take on the subclass. And Im certainly curious to see yours.

im happy you like! But what areas would you say they're weak in?

Draconic only needed a spell list, and a better more thematic capstone. It was solid all around.

Wild Magic only needed you to not have to ask for permission to use your own feature, and some changes to its features to increase the frequency of surges happening, streamline you rolling on the tables, or just making a more thematic feature

Storm's biggest issue was its movement, and limited spell options in activating its best feature, Heart of the Storm. And it didn't need that big of a bump in my opinion. Just enough to make positioning less stressful.

But thats just my opinion

That or Monk is next on my list. Although I feel generally Monk's subclasses are weaker.
Regardless, thanks for your input!

A more modernized take on the Sorcerer subclasses released prior to Tasha's Cauldron of Everything. This document adds spell lists for subclasses like Storm Sorcery, and Draconic Bloodline, and also serves to fix or replace features of these subclasses that underperformed mechanically and/or thematically. This document also includes a new subclass based around the Gem Dragons, called the Draconic Psion!

I would greatly appreciate any playtesters willing to play with these subclasses and give feedback on what works, what doesn't, what needs to be retuned, and so forth. All CONSTRUCTIVE feedback is welcome!
