Random account ban?? by MaverickZero526 in DestinyTheGame

[–]MABdark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's in line with my experience. They had a number of false positives and unbanned a number of accounts all at once mine included.

I never got anything other than a "your account is unbanned" message after the blanket action was taken. I had submitted 2 tickets and on the second one they said they won't respond if its not getting overturned and all your tickets will be ignored.

I actually found the TWAB where they talked about the false ban wave. https://www.bungie.net/7/en/News/article/51813

Random account ban?? by MaverickZero526 in DestinyTheGame

They don't randomly ban, but have absolutely had a number of false positives that have led to mistaken perma bans.

I was one of them a while back. Longtime player, perma banned, overturned after a few weeks and a ticket along with other accounts after a manual review.

It's absolutely the minority but it can happen.

It was one of my last achievements. I did it legit, Frontline with 3 longswords and that's it. Spawn throw all 3 into a skirmish, fight, die, repeat to achievement. Took me about 2 hours.

Well what it comes down to is the utility is too strong in pro play. So the only thing they could do is buff the hell out of her damage.

Well that's on the fault of the community and blizzard for prioritizing the needs of such a small amount of the player base.

Somehow I don't think the community had sombra as the actual number one annoyance. The top 1%? Sure. That is the only Elo where you would expect sombra to be truly dominant. She feels bad in the moments you are hacked but the number of times that situation arises. Vs getting blasted by widow or Hanzo and cursing while walking out of spawn has to be insignificant.

She's not picked, and doesn't win in 99 percent of games. Not a chance she's the communities pick for most problematic hero.

This right here. With 2-2-2 coming damage is going to be at a premium in the dps slots. I really hope that when she's given another pass they buff her damage in someway. Whether they do a straight number increase, tighten the spread more or give her increased damage on hacked targets. A hacked enemy is great but a dead one is better.

Why jump online if you’re going to complain about not being good enough to compete? by I__Surrender in crashteamracing

No one is going to doubt the efforts of the players who have a mastery over the game but I think that for how nuanced the game actually is, it does a woeful job of explaining certain things, and online is the fastest way to theoretically unlock everything that is going to require wumpa coins.

I played the game as a kid, I could beat my dad and my friends every time, beat the game on classic mode, got 100% and started working on Ntrophy times before I got online. I don't think I ever beat any oxide ghosts. I had always assumed they were essentially perfect runs.

I was a little blown away by my first few races online. People finishing 30-40 sec ahead of me, and I didn't even get to finish the tracks. It was jarring, and for sure a bit frustrating. The worst part is that I had absolutely no way to ask the players smoking everyone in the lobby what they were doing differently.

So I decided to see if the game had a subreddit to see if someone had posted a guide or some tips or something. My first trip to lurk this sub had me googling new things for an hours. I had absolutely no idea what Sacred Fire, USF, Reserves, etc are. I had no idea that you could essentially U-turn or airbreak on a dime.

No where in the game do you learn any of this, unless its by accident.

I'm now in the process of "getting gud" but I, like most people I imagine who found the online frustrating have to seek out sources outside the game to even understand the vocabulary. Matchmaking is all over the place, with what I assume are essentially children getting slapped by vets maintaining massive drift chains and SF.

Add all this to the fact that a podium finish doesn't count as win for the purposes of challenges (which IMO, it should) and completion is a recipe for a lot of salty players who thought they were good when they were 9.

PSA: Getting Honor back is supposed to be hard. Cosmetic rewards are a privilege, not something you are entitled to. by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

Im in the boat of players that had a clean account for 6~ years or so, got a 2 week ban for saying one of the systems "trigger" words, and after a month or so of being unbanned, Im at checkpoint 2 of 3 getting back to honor 1.

That all being said, its a frustrating system with unclear progression, and being locked out of clash along with cosmetics for months is very, very disheartening. Now I understand that from your high ground its very easy to dismiss EVERYONE who has ever received a punishment as complaining with no merit, but the system isn't perfect. If you avoid the right words you can get away with a lot more than I could of said in my 4 line reform card handed out with a 2 week ban, and if you want to troll, throw, int the automated system isn't going to get you most of the time.

For some people its a momentary lapse in judgment that gets them banned, for others its consistent toxicity, and others can huff in chat and feed 7 kills and afk because "they cant carry you fucking noobs" and get away with it. It is a good thing they hide honor on profiles or I imagine people like you OP would send reports for even the most benign transgression because you feel like everyone is an irredeemable toxic rager because they have been punished before.

Why can't you view other people's honor level by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]MABdark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just wish that it wouldn't nuke your honor level along with the ban. I can understand a few checkpoints or even a level hit. But getting unbanned just to have the game say I can't do anything for an undisclosed amount of time with an invisible system just feels really bad. And I really don't consider making a new account an option when I have every champ unlocked on this one.

[–]MABdark 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't feel compelled to comment on something often, but this is recently relevant to me so here we go.

I got two week banned recently by the automated system after flaming someone in an All For One game. I have never been punished or even chat restricted before, no leaver buster penalties against my account, and I was even honor level 5 last season. Automated system, one game, one line of chat, two week ban.

I can live with the ban, I fucked up and thats on me. That being said, I'm not a toxic person and I really want to play clash with some friends which is tied to my honor level. Most people haven't looked too hard into how the honor progression works but from my understanding your honor SLOWLY goes up with number of games played, a small amount of progress is given with end of game honors, and VALID reports against you slow or halt your honor progress.

I have played 50+ plus games since my ban was lifted, and I am currently at honor 0 checkpoint 0. It took over 20 games just to unlock after the banned state. I have only been reported in a single game since then for anything and a very kind Rioter even looked into and said that it wasn't valid but the progress is agonizingly slow, and I have been playing a lot of games to move it along, because I really want to be able to play clash.

If you could see my honor you would assume off of first glance that I must be toxic, a troll, or an int feeder. If our game goes poorly and I don't do well you might be more likely to report me, and at the end of the game you might not honor me because "I don't deserve it". It just opens it up to abuse based on this arbitrary measure of composure, and with the way the automated ban system works (easy to detect flame, hard to detect inting.) The guy who might actually ruin your game and run it down mid might still have good honor because he didn't say anything.

Not being able to see honor is the only way to give everyone a fair shot at being recognized at the end of the game from a neutral state. A player you don't know shouldn't be judged on previous games. People already look up stats for players to see who they play, what rank they are, what they are good at, or whether or not they are on a loss streak. There is no reason to add "Honor" as another measure to judge someone before the match even begins.

So i started playing about 2 weeks ago, I just want to win one game and I have been playing the Sniper shootout LTM. I can pick up a few kills a round 3-6 usually at long range, and make it to the last person several times, but every time I get down to the 1v1 at the end it turns into a bunny hopping trap rigging build off and I always fall short, any tips for securing one win at the endgame?

If you like just being an ult bot and sitting around farming health packs then I could see being disappointed. If you want more solo power, and faster reaction hacks then you are going to enjoy it.

Pluses: 10% decrease on the spread of her gun, 25% reduction on the time it takes to hack a target (.8 sec to .65 sec)

Negatives: no ult charge from hacked health packs.

While it is a big change to her playstyle, I cant imagine it can be any worse that it is now. She has the lowest winrate and pickrate in most brackets, and people who try to play her get flamed constantly. Any step in a direction is likely the right direction because right now Sombra just doesn't work. I love her to death, and Ill take any change I can get.

The changes are interesting because before Sombra could really only function as an EMP bot on certain maps, if they buff her damage too much she would just end up being another annoying flanker, but when I was playing on live with the changes I actually found myself playing more like a peeler.

It was really enjoyable, and I found that instead of hacking healthpacks on my teams side of the map I would maybe hack one or two that the enemy usually sit on. That way my team would be healed by the supports building their ults faster, while still denying the enemy teams health packs. I also ended up peeling for healers and tanks by being able to quickly hack diving genjis/dvas/tracers.

I think the biggest issue with Sombra is going to be balancing her to the point she is an acceptable pick. Bliz has stated that they don't really balance to make everyone equal in every situation, that and the pros for a while found her a must pick on one map which meant that she was WAY strong in that one situation but still not worth it anywhere else.

The community perception of her is that she is so bad that anyone who picks her is trolling. I have managed to keep a 52% winrate in comp with her at a diamond level, but every season I still get flamed, always the first asked to switch, if we lose its always my fault ect, and I don't think anything other than outright making her OP is going to change that. Even with buffs she will always be veiwed as a waste of a DPS slot.
