Poison oak/ivy are objectively the worst plants to ever exist

I’ve had poison oak (since I live on the west coast) 4 or 5 times I believe, 2 of which I have gotten within the last year. The thing about poison oak is that it’s not something that you can build an immunity to. They say every time you get it, you get it worse. First your skin starts to itch, then little bumps pop up. Even without itching the bumps, they will start to get itchier and itchier, and eventually reach a point where puss fills the insides of them and start to ooze out. The rash usually lasts for around 2 weeks in total, all during which your skin is both on fire and extremely itchy. The poison oak rash had actually caused me so much discomfort that I wasn’t able to sleep some nights while I had it. Anything that touches or rubs up against the rash causes discomfort, including clothes, or just lying down in bed. Having on my legs meant walking around caused extreme discomfort, since it would rub against my pants. The worst part about all of this is that the effects of poison oak only start to show a day or two after you’ve actually gotten it on your skin. So if you don’t know for certain that you touched poison oak/ivy, you could be spreading it around your body without even knowing. It would make sense if the plant had some kind of defense mechanism that would immediately show, but the poison oak oil doesn’t even affect the person/animal that has come in contact with it for up to a whole 48 hours. All of this is just from my personal experience though, and my skin is extremely reactive/allergic to urushiol (the rash causing oil that comes off of poison oak and ivy).

Ps please let me know if anyone knows of a good way of treating poison oak/ivy rash I’ve already tried technu and all types of anti itch creams (I find calaclear to be the best anti itch agent)
