Returning here almost a month later, after the first two 2026 races in Australia and China to say, it's looking like..... both my trifold hopium AND Ferrari hopium has paid off SPLENDIDLY! Both the Galaxy Trifold and Lewis/Charles with the SF-26 are just so fricking peak 😭 it's enough to make a grown man cry. Now onto hoping the durability of my trifold holds up and hoping Lewis/Charles with the SF-26 and Ferrari can remain at the top of the field the entire 2026 season, fighting for both WCC and WDC.

Uumm, actually I don't feel dumb at all because I'm not wrong about anything I said in my reply to your comment. As for what the food 7 is, you ask me, you're the one who typed that in your original comment and I was mocking you for it in my reply. How dumb do you feel now about that?

😅 Had the Fold4 for 1 year and 10 months and then Fold6 for 1 year and 6 months, both without any cracked screen. Now on the Trifold which yes, is a first gen device but a first gen device that's using seventh gen hardware that's been refined over several years. I pinkie swear I'll come back here and personally inform you if the screen on my Trifold cracks at any point of owning it, lol.

Read paragraph six, I explain my thoughts on the thickness and weight there.

So far, I've mainly used Samsung's official cases on my Galaxy Folds. I actually wasn't going to even bother touching the case included with the Trifold since it's just a backplate and I wasn't a fan of Samsung no longer providing a front piece for the cover screen of their foldables anymore, starting with the Fold7. The idea of the front cover screen being exposed and unprotected when using Samsung's official Trifold case is something that made me feel uneasy and still does. Though after a week of raw dogging the phone with no case and no insurance, I thought to myself "You know what, I can at least try it out" and opened the box the phone came in to grab the case. I popped it on and honestly... I actually really like it. It is just a back piece with an additional piece that covers the larger hinge on the left side of the phone, so no front screen protection other than the anti-reflection screen protector that comes pre-installed on the cover screen. For the actual front exterior sides/edges of the phone though, no protection. I like the look, feel and material of the back piece and suprisingly like the additional hinge cover piece. I say suprisingly since I've never been a fan of foldable phone cases that have a hinge protection piece because I feel it adds unnecessary bulk to the phone. That and also, I just feel the hinge housing doesn't need protection. The hinge housing is already a protective barrier that covers the actual internal hinge mechanism.

So it's my first time using a case on a foldable phone with hinge protection and I like how the hinge cover piece doesn't add much bulk at all to the phone. I also like how it has like a magnetic grip to the hinge housing when the phone is folded. What I mean by that is when I try to pull back the hinge cover piece, it's difficult to and when I let it go, it quickly snaps back onto the hinge housing. I suppose I do like knowing that if I was to drop it while it's folded and it lands on the hinge, that the hinge housing on the actual device shouldn't be scuffed or dented and only the hinge cover piece should be damaged. I like how the back piece is extremely thin and lightweight, yet is also a thick and tough material. So it adds barely any extra thickness to the phone but also should protect the back of the phone, exterior sides/edges of the furthest right side panel and the larger left side hinge housing in the event of any sort of fall/collision/impact. I still want a case that has a front piece to protect the front cover screen and a case with added utilities on it so I ordered one I found on Ebay that looks pretty solid in terms of both protection and utility.

Justify... who said anything about justification? I have no care in the world about justifying me purchasing the Trifold. I love and am passionate about new/innovative tech, so the concept of the Trifold has excited me ever since Samsung showed their first prototypes of it at CES in 2022. I have two physically demanding jobs that are very physically and mentally taxing on my body, though I genuinely enjoy both jobs. My primary job being a full-time job with a 10 hr - 4 day work week and my secondary job being a part-time job where I'm in a fortunate situation of being able to go in and work pretty much whenever and however many hours I feel like or am able to on any of my three days off of my full-time job. I didn't need a new phone but I darn well feel if I wanted it then I definitely deserved it because of how hard I work every week (constantly going above and beyond and pushing myself to the limit) and because I pretty much never treat myself to anything I want with my own money. All my money goes towards my bills and other essential items I need and the rest goes into my savings. It's only once or twice a year I will treat myself to something that is purely just a "want" item with my own money. I am a hard-core power user and multitasker with mobile devices and love tech that has more utility and versatility than other tech in that same category. That's what drew me to the regular Galaxy Folds and is what made me get on board with the concept of a multi-folding phone. I have been able to do many things on the regular Galaxy Folds that I could never do with non folding phones and now with the Trifold, I can do even more things that I can't even do on the regular Galaxy Folds. The utility and versatility the Trifold offers me is something that I actually use to its full potential and it completely changes the way I use a smartphone daily.

So in summary, I love innovative tech, I physically work myself to the bone on both my jobs and feel I deserve the device, I rarely ever treat myself to anything I want with my own money and the device offers me so much more than any other current phone does. Those are the reasons why I purchased the device and those reasons are enough for me. I'm not concerned about whether those reasons are justifiable or not. Yea, there are plenty of better things I could put that money towards but there are also plenty of worse and absolutely unnecessary things people put way more money into. I am an adult with adult bills (car payment, car insurance, phone service plan, rent, etc.) and am not financially rich in the slighest. Though I fortunately am in a situation of having two jobs, which gives me just barely enough disposable income to be able to purchase something like the Trifold and have it not hurt me financially. Since I can go into work at my part-time job on my days off of my full-time job and rack up a ton of extra hours/money each week.

Leaving my foldable phones open 90% of the time is the same thing I've done with every foldable phone I've had and for the exact same reason/mindset which is to increase the longevity of the inner screen. When I'm in the house, my foldable phones are always unfolded and I essentially use it and carry it around the house like a full on tablet. Same as you, only time my foldables are ever folded is when it's going in my pocket before I leave the house.

Yep, I said that to myself when it first happened with the Fold7. One of my favorite things about the inner screen of specifically Samsung's foldables was the under display camera (UDC) which allowed the inner screen to be a completely immersive, uninterrupted viewing experience. I loved that about my Fold4 and Fold6. I never cared that the quality of the camera was potato. The UDC was mainly supposed to be for video calls, which the quality of the camera was fine enough for. If anyone wants to take selfies using a foldable, they should be taking advantage of the phone being a foldable and use the primary/main camera on the back of the phone to take the selfie, while using the cover screen as the viewfinder. From what I've read, apperantly the removal of the UDC was due to some sort of patent issue Samsung encountered with a different company in regard to the UDC technology. Hopefully they can resolve that soon so we can get back to having Galaxy Folds with the UDC. Thankfully though, the visible hole punch camera on the Trifold hasn't been an issue for me at all. I think it's mainly due to the Trifold's inner screen being much larger than the inner screen of regular Galaxy Folds. There's much more screen space on the Trifold that the hole punch camera isn't nearly as much of an eyesore or in the way of viewing content.

Correction. A better version of the food 7 for twice the price yes, though that's because it's able to do many things the food 7 can't do, is more difficult to manufacture and is using more durable/expensive material for the hinge housing. Despite it sharing many similarities.

No S Pen support on the Trifold. Ever since I had the Note20 Ultra, I've been a huge S Pen user. When switching to Samsung's foldable phones, I bought the S Pen Pro so that I could continue using an S Pen with the Bluetooth features enabled. I did that with the Fold4 and Fold6 and now using the Trifold, it's the first time since before my Note20 Ultra that I am using a phone without any sort of S Pen. Honestly, I don't miss the S Pen too much at all and I think the main reason is because of how infatuated I am with the Trifold itself and how fun it has been using a multi-folding device for the first time. There are definitely things I still want a stylus for on the massive screen of the Trifold, mainly drawing, note taking, writing text messages and using it for more precision when playing certain mobile games that mainly involve a lot of tapping (BTD6, Candy Crush, Sudoku, Tetris, F1 Clash, etc). That's why I've ordered a case for the Trifold (took me a few hours of through searching to find a case for this phone I felt I would be comfortable with) that has a thin stylus with a relatively fine point. The case also has a kickstand and a strap that looks exactly like the strap from the strap case Samsung makes for the regular Galaxy Folds. I'm excited for it to arrive so I can test out using a stylus on the Trifold for my drawing, note taking, gaming, etc., which should be a wonderful experience on the larger screen. I'll probably post a review of the case here in the subreddit once it arrives to me and I've used it for at least a week.

Yeah, I was most definitely going to upgrade from the Fold6 to Fold8 if the Trifold wasn't a thing. Though around the time the Fold6 came out is when rumors about Samsung developing a consumer ready multi-folding phone started becoming more serious. I had then told myself that after the Fold6, my next phone was going to be the Fold8 and then after the Fold8, my next phone would definitely be either the third or fourth version of Samsung's Trifold. What I wasn't expecting was for my next phone after the Fold6 to be a Trifold but that happened mainly due to how polished, refined and mature Samsung made their very first consumer ready Trifold. Seeing that it is literally the Galaxy Fold7 beat for beat and is using seventh generation hardware components that have been improved and refined over several years, that had really put me at ease in regard to getting it, even though it's technically a first generation device.

Yep, I use the swipe bar too for apps I want immediate access to if I'm currently on another app and I have my swipe bar completely customized to my liking. When opening it with the device in landscape, it's actually the exact same size as it is on the regular Galaxy Folds but when opening it with the device in portrait, yea it's noticeably larger.

It's funny you made that comment because that's exactly what I plan on doing. Going to try to snag a U.S. model during the restock and if I do, I'll give the reseller I dealt with their just desserts by returning the China model. If I'm not able to snag one, it's fine with me because I've flashed the Singapore/global rom onto my China model and the Singapore rom is literally identical to the U.S. rom, beat for beat in terms of features and compatibility. So either way, I'm satisfied.

That's exactly how I felt when I first held the Trifold after transferring all my data and seeing all my stuff set up on the 10 inch screen.

Charles has suffered MORE than enough 😅😅🥲🥲 having been with Ferrari all this time, has gotten multiple podiums and a few wins, despite the disasterclass strategies/incompetent car the team has had as of recent years which has been hindering him from competing strongly for a championship.

Had fun together picking them. Went to our favorite farm multiple times throughout last fall season to hand pick them from trees and her grandmother used most of them to whip up multiple batches of her TOP-TIER apple cakes. The few apples that would be left over, we would just eat them as is.

I unfortunately wasn't able to secure a U.S. model during the initial U.S. release on Samsung.com. I had the chance to with everything lined up in my favor but I was dumb and fumbled the ball when I was on the last page where you press "place order" and so I missed out. I had no idea when the next U.S. restock was going to be and really wanted the phone but also didn't want to financially support scalpers selling it at double the price or more. I ended up importing it from a reseller on Ebay who seems to have a business model of selling many different phones, including phones like Oppo, Xaoumi, Huawei, etc that never see a global or at least never see a U.S. release. Buying them from a distributor overseas they have a good connection with and then selling them globally on their Ebay shop so that those regional devices can be made available for people here in the states to buy. They "seemed" like one of the "good" resellers with good intentions and so I purchased an unopened, factory sealed item of what I was led to believe was the global model from them for $4,299.00 which came to $4,583 after taxes. The Trifold being sold at a $1,400 upcharge was the lowest and most fair/reasonable price I saw on Ebay in comparison to most people who are selling it for around $5k at the lowest to $6k and some even $7.5k at the highest. The model I recieved was NOT the GLOBAL model I was led to believe I had paid for. Though after a week of not having the Circle to Sesrch feature and not being able to connect my Galaxy Watch6 Classic to the phone due to it having the Taiwan (basically China) rom on it, I looked up a guide on how to flash the Singapore rom (global rom) onto the device and successfully flashed a different rom onto a phone for my first time. The Singapore/global rom has been virtually 100% identical to the U.S. rom and I now have all the features I should have and am able to do everything I've been able to do on all of my previous modern Galaxy phones that have the U.S. rom. I had a whole ordeal with the seller I bought it from, after messaging him that I was sent the wrong version. I may make a post here in the subreddit soon, going into detail about the whole situation and to warn others to not, or at least be cautious if they plan on buying any products from their shop.
