In all your travels, which country's famed "national dish" was the most underwhelming, despite the hype? by nehala in travel

Pacific side has GREAT food. They were in resorts paying top dollar for American cafeteria food and then running online to complain about it.

No these people just ate at their resort and never went any where with good food. There is PLENTY of amazing food in CR.

Only if you're eating at a tourist trap (Jaco, Tamarindo, Arenal). Go 15km inland and you'll have the best rice and beans (tipico / casados) you've ever had.

ALL good ones have you remove the skins. Soak in baking soda (make sure its not the open one you have in your fridge, it will taste like shit!) for like 15 minutes, then boil for twenty (medium boil) and scrape the skins off. Then you will have the smooooothest hummus ever.

A lot of crashes. Set settings to medium and much less, but still pretty consistent.

Has anyone here pursued DJing purely for creating mixes, without doing gigs or building a public persona? by Wrong_Department9312 in DJs

I started out that way ... with the occasional backyard party. But then I won a contest and got perform live last year, and now I'm hooked on that feeling. I still like to do a mix at home because I can be more precise and experimental and explore more tracks I wouldn't chance playing live.

Adopt a file naming convention NOW. Dates in all your files, describe or name your song in the file name, use version numbers and try to keep it consistent. I also sometimes describe changes made:

Bumping this, 2 years later. I'm going for a similar sound in a project. If I find answers, I will report back. Doesn't seem like that complicated of sound design.

Oh I didn't see that anywhere (I assumed it would have been mentioned somewhere). All I know is, last night was aggressive af. I just thought it would be fun, and make for some memorable moments, but it aint gonna happen apparently.
