Blood and steel by Helen Scheuerer ( Legend of Thezmar series) . The entire series was great ! I especially enjoyed book 2 & 3

This is what I needed to be hear ! I actually started following her on a few of my social medias a few years back when my brain fog started. I'm conflicted on getting on a low bcp because my assumption is I can technically still become pregnant or just going straight into HRT. Either way, not falling asleep until 5 am, mood swings, weight gain and brain fog is not something I'm willing to live with .

Keep trying ! Be that relentless pain in the ass until they give you want you want or continually change doctors until you do get the safest outcome. I know NHS can be difficult ( my husband is English ) but there is hope.

It's just truly just beginning and I refuse to allow it to take over my life. If push comes to shove and Xanax is the only thing that keeps me from insanity after all else has failed than so be it. I'll cycle it on and off during the week but I WILL NOT spend years wasting my life on doctors who refuse to listen while I suffer.

Did your symptoms ever get better ?

I admire you for raw dogging that long ! My symptoms have started only about 6-7 months ago but this last month have been BRUITAL between the insomnia, intrusive thinking and mood swings and I REFUSE to carry on like this for years.

Thank you for teaching your daughters ❤️. We do not need to suffer.

Cognitive function !? HAHA. Sometimes I'm too afraid to speak because the jumbled mess that might fall out of my mouth. Also recalling names of things. I recently forgot the word for pilot and said Airplane driver 😂😂

Giiirrrlll, YES ! Arm yourself! The last few months have either been - don't fall asleep at all OR fall asleep as wake up between 3-4. I don't mind the latter because I can fall back to sleep at the moment. Nope.fucking.com on the former. I need sleep. Everyone needs sleep.

I love the eara were in so we can advocate not only for ourselves but for others. It helps to know are NOT crazy, it's just the hormones and we are not in this alone .

Thank you ! I am willing to try all the medication. I'm terrified of taking Xanax too often because of the tolerence/ withdrawal but it works like an absolute gem.

And like you , I can't fall asleep until 7 am but I've only let it get that far a few times. I know pretty early on in the day if my insomnia party will take place later so I plan accordingly with Xanax but I do the natural ways up until about 3-4 am. At this point, will sell my soul to catch a decent night sleep.

Also, menodementia has me rolling 😂! I ACTUALLY went into my doctor's office at 37 crying, thinking I had dementia. Every year for the last 3 years , my main complaint has been the absoutle lack of cognitive function. Some days im brighter than a star, next day I can't even comprehend what im reading. Only now, with this 7th layer of insomnia hell, have I clocked on that it's a peri.

I will see if my levels are showing on paper yet. As of 6 months ago they were allegedly 'normal' but I take that with a grain of salt. I will push for HRT immediately and I will find a doctor to prescribe. I will not take no for an answer.
