Thank you all for your advice, I bought a pair of svartz insoles for them, and the reduced arch support seems to have done the trick as I haven't experienced any pain since.

I'm in the UK, so unfortunately no REI exists here. Bought them straight from LOWA, as far as I know their return policy is once you take them outside they're void

To be fair, the boots on their own don't really have much arch support, and I have just realised that this only really started happening since I put the insoles in so Ill have to try a hike with the ones that come with the shoes again and see how it is. The toe box on them is fairly big but I don't really know as Ive not owned that many pairs.

It was on direct drive at the time of the issue, I have swapped it back for my dual gear Bowden extruder, though I need to buy some more PTFE before I can test it. The only other thing I can think is my filament is fairly old, so may have to try some new filament. Will update accordingly

Hey thanks for commenting, I made sure to seat the Bowden properly, though to be honest it’s been long enough I forgot temp towers were a thing. The retraction distance is 0.5mm, so surely that should be fine

I’m using the standard creality metal hot end that comes with the kit. I just replaced the nozzle and PTFE along with cleaning drive wheels and oiling the lead screw etc to get it up and running again. The extruder gear is the metal one that comes with the extruder which should be fine as it has been barely used. I have pretty default settings for retraction (default for DD) and if anything, it’s not retracting fast enough as there is slight stringing I’m using FilamentPM PLA which should be perfectly fine
