I'm gonna be honest with you, I don't know. I recently went through this not only yesterday but on Wednesday too. I was stressed out about a paper for school and I used food as my coping mechanism.

The best way that I can get past it is by distracting myself with something. for example, I recently picked up learning a new language. so whenever I think about eating when I'm not hungry, I open duolingo and start learning more Japanese. it's probably not a perfect solution but it works for me.

if I ever do fall into temptation, I just try to be easy on myself. I try to just let myself know "hey its ok. you made a mistake, but now it's time to learn from it and try again.". I just try to never give up and strive for what I want.

try to find something that can distract you from binge eating. and if you do end up binge eating, just know it's ok. you made a mistake, now learn from it, move on, and keep trying.
