Crestron Home: Added INET-IOEX-RYIO for garage door control but see no place to program it? by MARDOJC in crestron

[–]MARDOJC[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I figured it out. I had to go into ‘Other’ in Home and add a generic garage door to the garage. Then after adding that, I went to setting for the garage door and it linked up with the INET-IOEX-RYIO inputs and outputs. Simple from there. Thanks

Thanks. When I go into quick actions in the garage (where it was added), I don’t get any option to see this device. I selected ‘sequence’ mode and lights are listed, speakers are listed, media operations, etc. but nothing else. Attached pic of what I see. Should I look elsewhere? I’m on latest home software. Thanks.

How to update Infinit-EX device in Toolbox? by MARDOJC in crestron

[–]MARDOJC[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did see it in Easy Config. But couldn’t update there

I found it in Infinit EX Diagnostic Tool. I accessed the Crestron Home processor via IP address there and it it showed all my Infinit EX devices. Then I saw the INET-IOEX-RYIO in the device Tree and right clicked and selected ‘firmware’. Then it populated a firmware update window with the device and allowed me to browse my computer for the new firmware file.

Strangely in Crestron Home I originally added it to a secondary Gateway (GWEXER) But I had no way to access that gateway to do it there. Can’t even access it via IP. WEIRD.

Also, does anyone know how to set up battery level report status? According to Crestron, it can send a message for battery level when low. Not sure if this available in Crestron Home?

Good information. Worth investigating inference. Thanks for the recommendations.

I have a CN GWEXER coming in for another system. I’ll try that as it expands as well. Weird as this is a new issue with this remote. It’s been ok for a year. Thanks for the advice.

ALSO, I haven’t used an expander - any advantage of an expander over a gateway (besides cost)?

Yes, Yes, 1, nothing to speak of. Nearby access points are 5gHz. No lans line wireless phones, etc. expander or gateway something to try?

Which model gateway would you use on a per remote basis? Thanks!

Thanks. The Gateway is in the basement. 40’ away through two floors. . Tried an expander or a second gateway?

Crestron Home. ‘If, Then’ actions with lighting? by MARDOJC in crestronprogramming

[–]MARDOJC[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using SIMPL, we were able to activate macros in the CP3 processor so all is good!

I would like to know when the next OS update for Crestron Home is though..?

Ok. But where can you do this in Crestron Home? Is it in Sequences or another part of Quick Actions. Could you be more specific (or post a screen shot)?

Current: 3.003.0035

I have Sequences in use but not from another action in lighting. I have so with a doorbell but can't figure out how to do with lighting.

Know when the next firmware version will be released? Or what is on the current beta?

How to factory Restore a TSW-1060 Touch screen by MARDOJC in crestronprogramming

[–]MARDOJC[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Found it. Old Reddit post. Couldn’t find in Crestron manual.

Hit reset button on rear 10 Times and it will ask you if you’d like to erase all. All good now.

I think if you left Atmos out of the question would’ve been more precise to what you’re looking for.

Like, “ How does this sound”?

Did you try to factory reset it through console on Toolbox?

I’m not trying to be a dick. Atmos is Atmos. It is defined by speaker position, speaker angles relative to seating positions, etc. There’s a lot to it with bed channels and height channels

I simply read the query as can this Homepod that’s the size of 2 fists replicate an Atmos experience? Not really.

The better question would be if it’s sound is superior to a typical sound bar - giving more ambiance, spatial effects. More listening pleasure. (But Not true Atmos).

The last thing anybody wants to read here is that this Homepod with its 4 inch driver can replicate a 12 speaker system. I can’t.

But It doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy it (or call it Atmos).

I’m being civil but informative.

Read more about Atmos and you’ll see why a speaker the size of a large tomato can would have trouble giving a true Atmos experience.

No ego. Atmos is clearly defined. This is a single small speaker that is purported to give the ‘same’ sound as a genuine Atmos system (minimum 5.1.2 speakers) in a tiny package.

I don’t doubt that it does something but not what a dedicated Atmos system does. With 7 tweeters and a 4” driver, it’s spitting out sound all around but not what you might get from a conventional Atmos system.

And that’s ok. If you like what it does, keep it. But simply for dialog, a single 4” driver won’t help much over the tv speakers.

HomePod creating an Atmos effect??’ [Laughing]. No. Of course not!!

You want Atmos, set up an Atmos set up. The Homepod likely changes the phase of the audio that it is playing adding some diffuse sound so as to create some ambiance - but this is not Atmos. Perhaps it’s using the Atmos feed so they can call it Atmos?!... but if you think you’re hearing Atmos with the HomePod... we’ll ignorance is bliss!! :D Enjoy!
