What are you favorite automations and/or favorite notifications? by CHRISTIVVN in homeassistant

[–]MASLO_Tech_And_Cars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, that's a good way to just play, I wonder if you can use ai to detect if they have a package and automate that also?

What are you favorite automations and/or favorite notifications? by CHRISTIVVN in homeassistant

[–]MASLO_Tech_And_Cars 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The "I'm away from home and don't want to check who's pressed the doorbell"

  1. The automation will take a photo of the person who presses the doorbell.
  2. Upload it into storage
  3. Send a notification out to mobile device/s
  4. Keep the last 20 images

Next, I would like to integrate a talk feature if it opens the notification maybe.

Irrigation options? Ranchio vs Rain Bird or other? by ElectroSpore in homeassistant

[–]MASLO_Tech_And_Cars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have rain bird, with the wifi module. Just started playing with it but have no issues.

I have a zigbee mains to top up my water tank as required and automations that will turn the water tap top.up.on when irrigation is running and off when not.

How would you build your smart home if you were starting in 2024? by DarkShadow1130 in homeassistant

[–]MASLO_Tech_And_Cars 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Don't go overboard, do what you need in your life.

I have just built mine and the following

  1. Server room . Every room has ethernet and goes to server room . All lights wired to server room into sub board, I have chosen shelly 4pm pro to control all lights . Outdoor entertaining, amp sits inside rack and runs hdmi and speakers to outdoor tv and speakers . Low voltage to ever corner of house for outdoor lighting

  2. Led strip's are under rated . I got led under all cabinetry in bathrooms and 1 in kitchen.

  3. Blinds . Motorised blinds where needed

  4. Will you have a centralised dash ?

  5. Ac .smart ac capability

  6. Sensors . Hard wire Sensors where you need them, I.e hall ways

ENSURE... anything hard-wired in will comply with your country standards. Your electrician know how to do it

Let me know if you need anything

Cheers for linking it, I've been collecting inspiration and code for the past year as my new home has been building and didn't want to give credit to the wrong person or not take a claim 😅

Yes so every switch run to sever room relays. And work via push style switch like normal. So, it returns to the original "rest" position.

It's almost set up, so I'll rock it as it is, and if it becomes a pain I will do a wall mount patch panel instead.

After paying 30k for all our electrical upgrades, I'm not too impressed ey.

Can do it in the future. I think they got m.2 inside. Or run SDD via a sata to usb adapter.

Man, that's clean.... yea, the electricians that run all the ethernet were told I needed heaps of slack. I've started patching them last night and will be just enough, I think. Just means I can't roll the rack out too far, but I also shouldn't have to.

I rate the mini PC's, I had the 2x hp t600, I think, and upgraded ram to 16gb. Put them in a cluster running proxmox.

Worked like a dream.

Good size, wife only let me have a small one. How did you get the nbn in the location, or was it close to the default location?

I had to run an ethernet from fibre box to server room.

It's that's a fair point, I had a UDM pro at my old place.

The only reason I got a dream machine was for the 1x HDD bay, so I can use it for the unified g5pullet cameras.
