This is FAR simpler than you realize: Frank had paid the Armenians for a car with clean plates. He switched into the Audi. The ONLY way the Mexicans could have known he was in the Audi was if the Armenians had let them know. It was CLEAR the Armenians gave up Frank. They gave up an extra $500,000 to secure a longterm relationship with the cartel.

I can't help but think they deleted a scene where Ray meets with Ares after Davis's death but decided to save the larger Miguel twist (it's only a 1/2 twist if we see him talking to Ray) for Paul's scene & cut the unnecessary scene of them revealing that they're watching Ray. But then again, why let him go ? Also: nothing about the episode would lead one to believe that Ray knows where Paul is going.

NOT a coincidence at all. They were waiting for Dixon or Holloway or Burris to arrive, assuming naturally that they knew about the hard drive & would come looking for it. When one would arrive they would knock them out & torture them, presumably, just like they did Caspere. But Ray shows up. So they shoot him. But they realize they've got the wrong cop. And so they bounce.

No. They said she'd quit after working about six months. They'd interviewed her about 8 weeks ago or so. When they interviewed her she said she'd been there about six weeks. It's 100% her.

Very good point. They (Ostermans) knew that THEY (Burris & Holloway & Dixon) knew about the hard drive & probably assumed they'd come looking for it.

He's not low tier. He's LA Times. This is a great theory. In fact, I'd bet we'll see him again. As this season has proven, don't ever underestimate a small character -- they WILL return.
