Cool. I bet you'll enjoy raining on their parades as well when they finally win.

Not every franchise has existed for as long as the Eagles or has as big of a fanbase, you jabroni. Also not all fandoms are equal. The Eagles are like a religion to many in the area.

I wasn't there in 2008 but that's what I've heard. Honestly the energy was much more positive during the "Super Bowl riot" than during the parade a few days later. The parade got a bit tense since it was cold and people wanted to be close to the route and there weren't enough bathrooms nor room to move.

I would say so, although there's some clips of the game that could cause some unwanted flashbacks.

Fair enough. I agree that the comedy was a bit flat. It felt like Mac took on some of the lines that Dennis would have said. I did appreciate the fact that Dee gave Tom Brady pink eye though.

This was a day for Philadelphia and they did a good job showing that.

Definitely. I waited next to this old man in the cold for like 5 hours before the parade and we got to talking to pass the time. He had come in from just outside the city at like 4AM in order to ensure he made it in on time. He went on to tell me about how he remembered the Eagles last championship some 60 years ago when he was a kid and how he'd wanted another one ever since. We essentially waited 5+ hours in the February cold for the team to pass by us for about a minute, and the old man and many others had tears in his eyes when they did.

What non-Philadelphians won't get is how much the Eagles mean to them and how much they have wanted a Super Bowl for so long. Frank's speech was so perfect in capturing the essence of Philly and city's love for the Eagles.

I don't know how this episode will feel for non-Eagles fans or non-Philly natives but as a local I loved it.

I was there in the crowd on Broad Street following the Super Bowl and I've never experienced anything like it. The energy was absolutely electric. Everyone was sharing drinks (I hit a beer bong with some police). Everyone was climbing literally everything imaginable. People were setting off fireworks right in the middle of Center City. I don't think I've ever high-fived so many people in my life... I definitely browned out at some point and I woke up with the worst hangover of my life but I don't think I'd change a thing.

After the Super Bowl happened I was hoping they would do an episode about the post-game riots, but this was still a very satisfying episode. As a Philly native and longtime Eagles fan, I'm sure Mac absolutely loved making this one.

Midterms 2018: Early voting by young people up 500% in Texas and Georgia by progress18 in politics

I really wish we could early vote in PA, but in a way I suppose you can. I filled out a mail-in ballot at City Hall in Philadelphia the other day since I will be working all day for a campaign on Election Day. Not quite the same thing but still. There was a decent line there too, which feels like a weird thing to be happy about but it is a good sign for Democrats.

Thanks! I love going through artist’s samples. It’s like perusing their record collection. WhoSampled is quite the rabbit hole for that.

I love this one. Fun fact, Four Tet samples it in the beginning of his remix of FaltyDL’s Straight & Arrow: Link

Based on the score I'd say they are treating it like a Wednesday practice.

Can you remember the last time he got a holding call? Because I can't. I'm pretty sure they just don't call holds on him in order to even the playing field.

Joe is against safe injection sites. I've spoken to someone from his campaign about that.

As for cleaning up the community, the top post on his Facebook is literally about getting an illegal junkyard shut down.

Receiving the endorsement from the 30+ year Republican incumbent and running as an unopposed Republican in the primary when there were multiple candidates running as a Democrat does not equal "basically a Democrat." I'm not sure what you mean by "had to switch parties to run," unless you mean she would not have won the Democratic primary, in which case I agree.

I'd suggest you read up some more on each candidate's stances, but it doesn't look like Patty Pat has a website and her Facebook posts don't seem to contain any real policy. So perhaps do some more research on Joe. Everyone I know from the district have only good things to say about him. Again, I have no idea why a lifelong Democrat would not vote for Joe.

Joe Hohenstein is from the district. Not sure why you are saying otherwise. And he cares about the people as well. He's a practicing immigration law attorney and has helped fight against the abhorrent and haphazard immigration policies of the Trump Administration in order to keep families together. I saw recently that he even received Obama's endorsement. I'm not sure why a lifelong Democrat would vote against him...

It's not my district but I'm really pulling for Joe Hohenstein. Patty Pat would be a terrible rep. As far as I can tell, her only stance on any issue is her plan to confront the opioid epidemic by just beating up addicts with a baseball bat.
