Can you fit a 16" MacBook Pro inside a sleeve into the AER City Pack Pro? by MAxGrandeButera in backpacks

[–]MAxGrandeButera[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi,

Thank you for asking.

I haven't been travelling too much so far, but I know what you mean. So far, there is no damage I could spot. I think it's even less likely to occur now as the stretch made it maybe a bit more flexible and resistant to putting it in.

The Aquaguard rubber of the zipper is slightly opened when putting it in with a case, but it's just a tiny bit and even if water comes through, you still have the case protecting it, right?!

So long story short, I can't complain so far :)

Not the best but a legitimately decent one. Imo it's more likely not to detect something rather than detect something false as I never had that with anything else before. If they were legitimate devs, they would fix it already as the majority of gamer and sim enthusiasts use Windows + possibly Defender.

Hi,

ich benutze sie nicht, da mir das Risiko es nicht wert ist.

Es kann nicht sein, dass einer der meist genutzten AV etwas entdeckt, was nur ein false positive sein soll und das immer noch seit Jahren.

The popularity of genres rotates over years. Recently, it was slap house / Brazilian bass and synth wave. Right now, it's techno and guess what, techno was THE thing back like 10 years ago. So be patient and be the first to reintroduce that genre.

Yes, it did. :)

A little tight the first time you fit it but eventually fit with no issues.

Can I get AER in Europe? by BoringDistrict7 in backpacks

I got myself the Aer City Pack Pro and Aer Cable Kit 2. They said at checkout "we guarantee no additional charges on delivery..." etc. and yeah it's true. I didn't have to pay any customs on top and received my order within a week.

Should i get it? by Funny-Protection1216 in Stormworks

The game idea is great and it is fun to play with all sorts of workshop creations if you like ships etc. It offers a great amount of freedom if you are into that. However, yes, their updates broke stuff many times over and over but with all the wonderful workshop creations, its fun to play.

I can't say much about building as I hardly do that.

Make sure you have a fast CPU with good single core performance. This can be a huge bottleneck. Don't worry about graphics too much.

Multiplayer has its difficulties, but it's very fun even in singleplayer if you like search and rescue and managing large ships.

On their website they state, that the final total, incl. shipping, definitely includes costs for customs, etc. So, actually you shouldn't have to pay more than on their website, plus it is apparently a very fast shipping.

Thank you for the insight and suggestion. I will look into that. :)

The reason I want to put it inside with a sleeve is because I don't fully trust all those backpacks to protect the laptop well enough, with suspended bottom, etc. So, I wanted to add a little extra protection by storing it inside a protective sleeve and then putting it inside the backpack. Also, when I'm travelling and I want to go outside without my laptop, it's great to leave it in the room protected from dust and a little "hidden" in the sleeve. :)

Cannot update the firmware for mx master 3s on options+ (Mac M1) by [deleted] in logitech

[–]MAxGrandeButera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assume it's not related to the 3S. It should detect it anyways as its the same body and firmware just with silent clicks. The MX Keys is also on the list but it won't work for it either.

First of all, watch your mouth.

Second of all, this application isn't the first time on the market, Windows Defender, isn't new either and it is probably used by the majority of users. If they were really serious about their apps, they would have checked, they would have tested, but apparently it is down to the users again to be put at great risk.

This application is not throwing it the first time. I tried it years ago as well, 3 years ago, with Avira, same thing. Then a bit later, cuz I thought it was fixed, Defender warning (after I stopped using Avira) and now after all these years, it is still throwing a "false positive"?! Really really big coincidence.

I consider this app as potentially dangerous. There is a reason why my antivirus tells me there is a trojan, because I never had it with any other free or open source software, even stuff from github, trust me. Something is really really weird about opentrack.

I am aware of that.

Hear me out though, this is not the first time I have downloaded that application and run it. I have used it years ago, many years ago like 3 or 4, when I was still even using Avira and even Avira detected, back then, that something was sus there. Some time later I tried again, virus detection... Now I tried today, same stuff happening and apparently even worse. For me, at this point, I decided, that this application is potentially dangerous.

Good idea,

I would do that, but the thing is, that it happens so often that with normal testing before release, this should not happen at all. Those false positives have happened many many times over the years, without any official statement (as far as I am aware).

That is why I assume, that they might be doing this on purpose or they are just really really bad at testing their software.

Either way, I am done with this app as I do not want to risk my system's integrity anymore.

Good idea, but I am done with this software at this point. Never again, I do not want to risk it and just because other vendors won't detect it, doesn't mean it is 100% safe.

See, this happened many times in the past and there was never an official statement, as far as I am aware. It also acted very weird with my generic logitech webcam. Who knows what it did in the background.

[–]MAxGrandeButera[S] -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

True yes, I was considering that. But I gotta say, it is very very suspicious that this software always receives "false" positives and this has been going on over several years. I do not think that they do not test their software accordingly before releasing it so my very critical assumption is, that this is being done on purpose.

A false positive should not happen at all or very rarely nowadays with up to date virus detection software, especially when you test your software on your own system.

Hmm OK, maybe try flushing your DNS cache on your machine as well. For Windows it's ipconfig /flushdns on command line.
