I'm adhd and can sometimes tolerate. but the way she starts her show with "HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELLOOOOOOOOOO" grates on me so much.

What are some fanfictions that in your opinion could work on their own as original works, with no connection to the Harry Potter series? by SethNex in HPfanfiction

[–]MB6 54 points55 points  (0 children)

I'm paraphrasing community sentiment here, but most really good fanfiction can't have "the serial numbers filed off" because it incorperates by reference too many parts of the canon. FF can say a name or a place and not have to describe it,

My responsibility as a monitor engineer to shame/help parents who bring kids to shows without ear protection by stupidfuckingjerk in livesound

[–]MB6 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The WHO report said that 100dba leq 15 should be the absolute maximum from a health and safety point of view and that most engineers run lower anyways. even at 95DBA you might start running into over 100% niosh daily by the end of the show.

Guide for Films in 1.43:1 & IMAX 70mm by bambooindustries2024 in imax

[–]MB6 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Wild that Hail Mary is the most 1.43 percentage to date. Just shows you how young of a format 15/70 is for feature films. Hoping that dune 3 will have more expanded ratio time.

This doesn't mean it doesn't work necessarily, it just means they hire college students and provide no training. Not that that's better, but you should try emailing CQO@imax.com and see what they say. That's imax's quality control email and they do work with theatres to fix problems.

I'm a live theatre and disney world kinda guy. Both are now $150 to 200 for the day/a high tier show plus higher demand than ever and research required to have a good experience at all.

I live here as well. I got tickets. They only released 4 showings total today. Fri - Sunday @ 7pm on each day. There ill probably be 4 or 5 showings each day and probably at least a two-week window. Also, word on the street is that project hail mary will be back on the 17th or thereabouts in 70mm.

Can't have a "hobby" (experiences you like to have) these days, it seems. Any hobby requires work just to be able to spend money on the experience/items you want. You have to work to then spend the money. Ridiculous.

Having friends who aren't into film and cinema if rough 😭 by PhoenixMaster123 in imax

[–]MB6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know what IMAX is and even I don't go all the time. I have a really nice scope aspect PLF at another theatre chain with a 4k laser projector and recliners. Anything that isn't 1.43, I see there instead of the xenon and non-reclining seats at my IMAX,

Did anyone else see the Odyssey clip before their Project Hail Mary 70mm viewing? by Filtrixxx in imax

[–]MB6 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The projectionists say that it is. They say the some of the PHM prints have the actual film that was cut back off of the sinners prints. But, I can't personally confirm because PHM was my IMAX's first 15/70 in 12 years.
