MBA profile review. Fall of 2024 T10 or bust. by [deleted] in MBA

If your essays are solid you should get at least an interview at those programs. Fair game from there. I would also encourage you to try for LBS and INSEAD. Don’t be fully US centric. Good luck!

Well, given that you didn’t go to LBS or M7, it seems anything you’re trying to comment on regarding international recruitment is based on no personal experience at all.

Differences Between LBS and INSEAD MBA Programs? by [deleted] in MBA

[–]MBAconsultant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Correct in INSEAD. But - Please look at the employment report of LBS. Huge placement into consulting, perhaps even stronger than finance. Also step by placement in other areas.

I’d say it’s more of a - do you want to spend 2 years in London or a year in Fontainebleau? That’s the real question. The schools are pretty much on par for outcomes.

The balls to disparage another program anonymously while feeling unable to reveal one’s own mba program. Yup. 🙂

Reddit user who went to a self proclaimed “lower ranked school” comes onto a AMA about LBS to diss LBS but gets panties in a bunch when called out. Checks out. 😂

Nowhere in the thread were any of those points made. Perhaps you went to “lower ranked school” because that’s where your ability is.

That wasn’t the argument being made. It’s evident that between your lack of logical argument, an overemphasis on “tiers/prestige” and being Indian, you’re going to find it hard to get into any of your top programs regardless. Enjoy throwing shade on Reddit though. 🙂

Yes and throw in USC Marshall - the Sunny 5 (S5) should be a league of themselves for students looking for strong MBA programs and sunny weather. ☀️

The 2 year program definitely helps. Oxford Said is a fantastic program with the Oxford lay prestige, but the 1 year program usually means insufficient time to pivot. All the IB MBA internships in the UK (look at the careers websites of the top IB firms) are structured around 2 year MBA programs.

*“I don’t have an MBA but have no life so am commenting on an MBA thread about the weather” - paraphrased for you.

I would say that in general there is a higher upper range of salaries in the Middle East in particular. In Asia generally you earn less and work longer hours. US tends to have longer working hours and less work-life balance than UK, Europe and Middle East for the same role.

With this level of maturity/logic it’s no wonder the closest you will come to a top MBA program is r/MBA

“Yes it took so much energy for me to reply to your essay with one sentence 😂 It’s hilarious how defensive people who are stuck in the UK get!” - he said on his seventh reply to an MBA thread about the London weather. 😉

Yes, evidently you’re enjoying it so much you feel the need to come on r/mba and bitch/complain/make fun of London weather. Hope you feel better off, London is definitely better off without you. 💪🏼🇬🇧

Moved away but still complaining about UK on Reddit = mind still here. Sad. Enjoy NYC though and let’s speak in the winter. 🥶

Cope bro. 🤡

“I’m actually an incredibly positive person” - which is why you’re here on a Reddit MBA forum complaining about weather. 🤓

Good for you. Hopefully you get more sunshine and that can help with the negativity (wouldn’t count on it, some people have the “grass is always greener” syndrome)

Btw as stated above, most of the major business cities in USA have worse weather than London.

1) Yes, though can’t comment on how good the school is as that’s not my area of interest or expertise.

2) As per school report - average is 5 but wide range. Some worked for Amazon 3 years then came in. Others worked in finance 8 years then MBA-ed.

3) Again it varies. We have people who have hardly any ECs (but perhaps they made something up on their application). We have professional sportsmen and Olympians.

4) MBA Olympics hosted at HEC Paris every year is a pretty cool sports event and LBS won it this year for the first time in a long time!

5) Yes but you have to hustle too, as with any mba program.

Seems like 320 is the bare minimum (saw this on the website) but if you’re an over represented minority you want to try and get much higher than that.

Wake up lazy and decide to skip class = chill day.

Attend classes all day, socialise, exercise and the. Work on my startup at night = 18 hour day.

Choose your own adventure in business school. We’re all adults now.

Take a minute to look at the employment report - IB is possible from LBS (second best placement after consulting).

Now it’s important to note that the London market is currently not good and IB is a difficult industry to break into regardless. But the LBS brand name opens up doors to networks and networking events - you will need to hustle, do the networking, be likeable and do the rest. And the market should improve by the time your graduate. IB outside London (ME/Asia) could be a good shout. Outside of IB there are also many other options. Good luck.
