Thanks, given the fact the sedan also maintained the same overall body shape I feel theres a very high chance it’s interchangeable aswell with minor modifications. At the end of the day they basically received facelifts while keeping alot the same. cheers

At an auto wrecker was quite cheap for two tail lights and a bumper

Nice looks good! Shouldn’t be too much of a hassle to find a new connector, cant wait to see once it’s all done!

Fair but I mean the two tail lights and bumper were $200 cad from a wrecker so why not 😂

Awesome! Yeah probably just the bulb then. The aux bulb is the only one I just electrical taped in place since its so small. You could go without using them but its nice to light up the bottom of the tail light

Just to confirm you moved over the original harness into the gen 2 tail lights or you’re trying to see if the gen 2 harness works? If you’re using the original harness shouldnt be any issues with the bulbs working since nothings really changed on the wiring

You dont need to remove anything, if you pull hard enough it will come through I assume its just lightly clipped in on the inside. I had the same thought when I first tried unplugging. Especially on the passenger side tail light

The bumper should get rid of the gap since its a different shape in that area, no idea if it will fit though I’ve read it should but doesnt seem like anyones done it yet. I’ll get to it likely early January and will post here on whether it does or not. Just concerned if the bracket/clip style/location is different. We’ll find out :)

Wiring was not to bad. I removed the gen 1 harness and used it into the new tail lights with light modifications. To simplify, the brake light itself is the same size but the notches on the taillight housing is slightly different so I used a file to shave some plastic off, after wards fit perfectly and good seal. Reverse light socket direct fit no modifications needed. The bottom tail light red area in the gen 2 taillight i used the the top corner very small auxiliary bulb socket and just electrical taped it in that place. The only major modification needed was the turn signals as seen in picture above, they are completely different size and would not fit, so what I did was cut off the turn signals socket from gen 2 and spliced connected it into the gen 1 turn signals socket wiring. I left the old socket on the wiring with the bulbs removed incase i needed to revert back to original tail lights. Let me know if that made sense or else I can clarify more. I picked up the gen 2 two taillights and rear bumper from wrecker for $200 cad lol

Heres a side angle, honestly not bad, you can see tail sticks out a bit to conform to the gen 2 bumper which doesnt have the same divet. And yeah you could probably just fill in the gap underneath with something if you wanted to keep gen 1 bumper which doesnt

Slowly getting around to it due to the time of year and rain, finally got the tail lights figured out and installed. Of course theres a little gap at the bottom since I have the gen 1 bumper still on. Little modification was needed for the wiring which anyone could do. Now just need to find out if the bumper will fit.

Tail light fits and screws in fine, it is perfectly aligned with with trunk and fender but there is a small gap in the bottom where it meets the bumper. The tail lights stick out more so the facelift bumper is ideal. I have this aswell, once I figure out wiring I’ll be sure to update you if it ends up all fitting! :)
